That quote was obscene, though. There were some good parts in that article, but it is incredibly horrible to literally create a definition for 'openly closeted' that does not include the person IDENTIFYING their own sexuality.

Whew.

No, don't say this? Or no it's not okay?

Writing this whole article about "what if" someone is gay, when they explicitly say "please don't talk about my sexuality", is really freaking weird.

Follow-up news piece: #fuckphyllis is super popular still, because of all the people using it to make fun of the students who used it in the first place.

This isn't as bad as Gawker's article proclaiming that:

if Queen has repeatedly told reporters her private life is private, you should respect that. Don't dedicate articles to speculating on her sexual orientation and how she should handle it.

It's definitely not Feminists Against Humanity, but like I just said to another commenter, part of their purpose in this was to mitigate some of the intense male-only-ness in comedy.

Well, I would normally agree with you, but here is an excerpt from their 'about' page:

Well said.

I'm in my early twenties, my sisters are in their teens, and I mentor kids aged 10-15 on Facebook, I'm actually pretty in touch! The problem is that Photoshop isn't free, and it is a lot more complicated than Instagram and other free online photo edit/filter things. To be a photo savvy kid today you have to produce a

That's a good point! I was more coming from, by the time a girl is old enough to have a Facebook account she is likely old enough to manipulate Instagram filters enough that she knows how to cover up her zits, or heighten the contrast so her eyes and hair pop, etc. I have so many 10-15 year olds on my Facebook who are

I'm mostly responding to the comment that we're going to see a rise in anorexia in people over seventy because they're the only ones tech ignorant enough to believe what they see.

Agree for things like skin tone (edit - I mean evenness, like when someone's skin looks flawless, no one thinks that's real. This is NOT okay if a person's actual skin colour is lightened, like it often is for WoC). Eyebrow fullness. Hair vitality. Sparkly eyes. We know those things are enhanced, and everyone does

The oppressed need to be TOLD they are oppressed and SAVED from their oppression WHETHER THEY WANT TO BE OR NOT!

Me too. It's so goddamned encouraging to come to an article like this and not find ONE SINGLE COMMENT in favour of the article or this whole insanity. At least, not in the popular threads - I'm halfway down the page and have yet to find one comment defending this move or thanking Jez for writing about it.

YES. ALL OF THIS. YES.

Chairsniffer is an insult like pantysniffer (but even 'weirder') . As if this person sniffs chairs to smell the vaginas (or whatever) of people who sat there. It's always derogatory and used to say someone is like the most extremely unacceptable sexuality deviant.

I hope that the absolute pile-on in the comments mitigates that a bit. Luckily every single person seems to have read this article and viscerally reacted to how incredibly sex-shamey and awful it is, which is kind of awesome, and rare here...

Oh, someone else pointed it out, you can see it on the close-up of her face. I've never heard of red mascara, that is crazyyy.
