What the FUCK? Are you insane?
What the FUCK? Are you insane?
I doubt this will get out of the grey since it's a bit late, but... what about the whole 'kids have short attention spans' thing?
Um, I just have to disagree with the idea that kinkiness draws it's "edge" from being close to rape or violence...?!? All kinky sex? Everywhere?
Really?
Fully true, We're talking about a photograph, so I think that some people are arguing that a photographer would show visible indicators of violence if they intended violence - since we can't ask her how she feels.
But think about this - it's photography. An AD. Trying to convey something over an image - not a real person. So if they were trying to show a woman playing on her iPad, they would have some sort of indication that she's actually having fun down there. Like the old legs straight up at a 90 degree angle thing, ankles…
Beautiful explanation. Thank you.
Yes! Exactly this. Thank you.
Um, you're asking for evidence from a person who "compartmentalizes" their brain so that they can believe in evolution and Creationism at the SAME TIME.
Yes!! Yes yes yes. All of this.
Yes! Flames!!
Wow! Learn something new every day. Thanks :)
... "straight sized"?
There's got to be a better word for that.
I know!! My boyfriend heard me playing the song and assumed it was satire.
Or you can interpret it as following the previous line (like it sounds in the song). As in, must want to get nasty, go ahead and get at me - i.e. I think you want to get at me, not a command.
Doesn't make up for it, IMHO. It's like adding "just kidding!" to racism to make it okay. It's a song, and you usually only catch snippets at a time. Not good enough!
"I know you want it
But you're a good girl
The way you grab me
Must wanna get nasty
Go ahead, get at me"
The blurred lines are between consent and not consent, aren't they? That's how I understood it, even before the video and Jezebel analysis. i.e. You say you don't want it, but you're blurring the lines, because you do.
I saw it at the drive-in (i.e. no snorting audience) and without that context, it didn't feel Sam Raimi-esque at all to me. There are very few shots where you actually see any ghosts/demons/possessed folk, and when you do, their get-up (to me) seemed appropriate for dead people...
