Bridesmaids is the canonical example: We missed it in the theater, and watched it at home, and while it was in principle amusing, we didn’t laugh much. I felt like being surrounded by a crowd would have helped.

He’s definitely one I was thinking of. Pretty much every album he has, I think about half of it is really funny and well done, and then half is just....ew.

I used to be one of those people that thought his stuff was toothless and inconsequential. He’s really, really grown on me over the years (while, interestingly, other edgier comedians I used to revere seem to have really soured for me).

Based on a few of the specials I’ve watched recently, they could stand to.

I liked his most recent special a lot, and I’m saying that as somebody who before that was a pretty strong non-fan. 

Yellow means ‘go’, green means ‘whoa, slow down,’ and an anonymous death threat carved in the side means, ‘Where the fuck you get that banana?”

You know what the unkindest cut of all is in all this hot garbage? Offred and Ofglen are the names assigned to them by Gilead, because they are no longer people, they are Of Fred and Of Glen.

I’m not a botanist, but wouldn’t a lot of that plant life replenish itself much more quickly than the animals that eat it, and the animals more quickly in turn than the sentient whatevers that eat them?
