Hey baby, is that a homemade puppet of Glycon the 2nd century snake god in my pocket, or am I just happy to see you?
The one exception for me: MST3K: that’s the one media where sometimes the very obscureness of the reference is part of what’s so joyful about it. And sure, an average viewer might not get a third of the jokes, but there’s so many jokes that even only getting two thirds of them is still really enjoyable.
If only he had other things he joked about.
Yeah...I care about this even less than I care if Dumbledore was gay or not, and a DNGAF about Dumbledore.
I’m not a musician like he was a musician, but I have tried the two saxes at once thing. Physically it’s not like it’s impossible (I achieved some limited success), but mentally trying to wrap my brain around playing a duet with myself? Mind-bending.
I came to post this very thing. I think it was just sax/clarinets, I don’t think you can play more than one flute at a time (source: am a flute/sax player, and Kirk is a big influence on my flute playing).

I guess what I’m getting at is that retroactively cutting one check because this story is a little more sensational than most seems more like a one-off than anything that will address the systemic nature of the problem.
an actor is paid based on the size and success of their previous roles rather than the current one. Smith was fresh off of a run as Doctor Who when he signed on for The Crown, a role that was deemed higher-profile and therefore more bankable than Foy’s role as Anne Boleyn in the BBC historical series Wolf Hall
It’s hard to imagine that the sales of the gag book are eating much into the sales of Charlotte’s book. I can’t think that very many people were going to buy the latter, but then found out about the former and chose it instead.
This is a great phrase, did you make it up? Do you mind if I borrow it, but change a few things, like instead of a giant it’s a skyscraper, and instead of taking a pee it’s a bloody nose, and also it’s a rap musical?
the producer told the NYT that he “can’t and won’t present a play that feels like it was written in the year the book was written in terms of its racial politics: It wouldn’t be of interest. The world has changed since then.”
I snorted audibly at this image. I’m....kind of dark.
JIMMEEHHH!!!
<<<You asked if it was legal>>>
Just do what these folks do: take all the time you normally spent reading, learning, and not being a bigot, and use that as your outrage time instead.
Moms...are a race?
One of my favorite bits of porn dialog, and I wish I remembered what video this was: a girl is trying to seduce her reluctant/oblivious roommate, and at one point the roommate walks out of the room and the girl says, “Man, this girl is harder to get into than Ulysses!”
You keep bringing this back to HIPAA/ethics. My main stance has been, this is kind of a shitty thing to do, because I wouldn’t like it done to me. I have at no point taken a stand on whether he violated ethics, I’m saying he’s kind of a douchebag.
