Space Knight!
Space Knight!
I’m both excited about this show but also very scared it’s gonna get shitcanned within a month
Super excited for this. This is a really good time to be a Superman fan.
It’s an acquired taste. I owned Fleece for maybe 7-8 years before I started to appreciate it. I imagine racing up the PCH at sunrise while listening to “Streets of Arklow” was a factor.
Snyder filter in full effect. The first time I attempted to watch BvS I had to check the colour settings on my TV because everything had a blue tint.
I’m really looking forward to seeing how they cast Thor and Loki, especially just to differentiate from the MCU versions.
I’d probably put Exile On Main St. at #2. After that, I dunno. Maybe Madvillainy?
Alien is probably my favorite film of all time but there hasn’t been a good movie featuring the Xenomorph since 1986 (and yes, I’m aware that Alien3 exists - I’ve seen it multiple times, including both major versions--at best it’s an interesting failure, though a failure nonetheless) so I’d say Alvarez has his work…
The funny thing is, if you listen to the scatting near the end of “Jackie Wilson Said,” it sounds several times like Morrison is saying “Chewbacca.” So maybe Lucas had Saint Dominic’s Preview on a lot while he was writing the early drafts of The Star Wars.
It’s wild that he’s been mocked for his color choices in his movies since 300 came out 17 years ago and yet remains committed to that choice no matter what.
In spite of all that, he remains my favorite Sith Lord. Darth George.
I have it on good authority this is what a lion sounds like.
It’s wild that he’s been mocked for his color choices in his movies since 300 came out 17 years ago and yet remains committed to that choice no matter what. I guess he just wants to have an iconic style even if that style is mostly just sepia filters?
meanwhile Gunn and Tarantino seem to be the only directors in hollywood that actually know how the fuck to use color anymore.
Me watching a Zack Snyder movie: “Huh. This has some pretty cool cinematography. Wow. This cast spent a lot of time in the gym. Okay, why does this shot need to be in slow motion? Alright, who thought that line was a good idea? Who wrote this script? Okay, I’m being cynical. Let’s just try to enjoy the action. Hold…
Also, the last push to turn Narnia into a major franchise was spearheaded by the Christian billionaire Philip Anschutz, and if he decided it wasn’t worth the trouble to court religious viewers, I don’t see how a nominally secular approach with an avowedly feminist filmmaker is going to work.
Snyder critiques are a dime a dozen at this point, but HOLY SHIT this takedown of his style and “ideas” is goddamn fire. Worth sitting through all three parts, especially the analysis of Snyder’s Dawn of the Dead versus Romero’s. Maybe get yourself a nice beverage and some snacks when you have the time.
the LOTR reboot make sense because they have a very small window left to cash in on the IP before it goes public domain on January 1st, 2033. It’s why the Tolkien estate is so gung ho about selling rights to the various bits of his materials to whoever wants to make something based on it (all the different studios…
Don’t forget 17 rapid POV cuts on a mundane event like a door closing or putting a pot back in the cabinet.
After watching the Snyder cut of justice league I was actually going to say “oh look some color” because wow that was the most black and white color movie I have ever seen (jumping to the black and white cut there are a lot of scenes that are just plain 1:1 in the color department and that really is not how it should…
