Yup. It’s the good wise king ideal: yes having a good, wise, compassionate king calling all the shots and making the right decisions is probably a great system of government - no politics, no infighting, no bureaucracy, just a single noble soul with everyone’s interest at heart.

Yeah, I get what the sentiment it’s getting at is, but it’s really the vagueness of the speech that bugs me. With Dr. King, or Ghandi, or Franz Fanon, etc, their speech for civil disobedience are specific. The only way for authoritarian and fascist to twist them is to cherrypick them out of context (see what Fox News

Not in New York.

But did anyone call him an asshole?

I’m guessing that the source of the Superman story is Pierson Fodé’s agent.

Hot take: I’ve always hated the “No, you move” speech. (here’s the speech for reference)

Dumb joke. The Max name is left over from Cinemax, HBO’s sister network, which ran tons of softcore porn in the ‘90s and ‘00s and came to be known informally as “Skinemax.” The joke being that the new “Max” is pretty much devoid of such programming, with the emphasis being on crap reality TV hosted by right-wing

I mean, I don’t disagree, but it was an excuse to do a Transformers show with a Velociraptor, a T-Rex, and a Gorilla in it.

Which would be why nothing I said even implied that he did. Hence talking about his film tastes, not his filmmaking abilities. Because while he didn't make the films himself, he was involved with them and promoted the writers' vision from the start. A vision that fell flat for most other people.

Not really blaming, but he’s an executive producer on all of them, worked on the scores, and spent a lot of time talking up the writers’ plans from the beginning.

What’s coming up for both Superman & Lois and Gotham Knights I fear is falling victim to the CW’s  purge of its scripted shows

Sorry John, that might have meant something in 2019, but then Halloween Kills and Ends happened. Keep making great music, but I'm not sure I trust your film tastes anymore.

the lore of the show isnt all that complicated, but them adding the Maximals to these movies does not make sense. especially since they’re just the characters in name only. its a blatant 90's nostalgia cash grab. Beast Wars was a real love letter to the original show and handled the canon with care. yeah they did some

okay so that person is mostly right, but they forgot a few key thing.

I’m still baffled that a movie where two characters say, “Kill the Past” and then proceed to screw everything up by trying to kill the past convinced people that the movie was trying to kill the past.

“We spared no expense.”

Hasbro: “We ran out of 1970s Japanese toys to repackage, now they’re dinosaurs and cheetahs and shit.”

Holy fucking shit, Robert Eggers is Nosferatu? Big news if true.

well the lore explanation is the same as vehicles - they’re ‘robots in disguise’. but yes once you unpack that for 5 seconds it doesn’t actually make sense.
