My point is that it doesnt actually CHANGE anything.

There is like 1 maybe 2 mentions of the Bene G’s seeding their religion into the planet. And it will be REALLY interesting to see how DV deals with that, IF he does.

House Harkonnen - really white people are the worst

Also, what happens with Alia is one of the more out there parts of the book, so yeah, no reason to show here now, better to do that in the movie itself when by that point everyone is already along for the ride.

Look you want to live, you got to take care of your cat.

Yes that Amatuer David Lynch.

What 3rd of the book does it skip?

Kind of hard to say that, really, as all the white savior stuff is in the back half of the book, and hence will be in Part 2.

That is correct. I think it was Lynch taking the idea to extremes, which is a great way to visualize the Baron’s love of excess.

I was thinking that about the Harkonen’s and Lynch too! It is a VERY Lynch look to them, pale and a bit doughy.

He took over last April. Even if he had a FULL compliment of new shows and movies he wanted to make on Day One, not a single one of them would be on the streamer yet.

Those are all current shows. Every one of them.

Thats funny, I never really noticed a DT connection with the Baron. But yeah that could have been part of it.

Poor content? Really?

Well by the end of book 1, all you know is he has to choose between dying himself/letting his family die or causing Jihad to spread across the universe killing billions. After wrestling with that, fighting against it, he gives up on saving billions and chooses to live.

It’s not just a graphics upgrade though. Lynch changed large parts of the story, sometimes for technical reasons (they couldnt figure out how to film the weirding way, so made the weirding modules into weapons, which is NOTHING like the book), and sometimes because he is a really weird guy and likes Thufir to milk a

Ok so as expected this is going to deviate a LOT from the book, judging from that trailer, but maybe he can stick the landing on Paul trying to navigate the futures and trying to pick the least bad one. And failing/giving up.

Wow.

Well agree to disagree then.

Yeah its interesting that this “solution” moves who controls TCM to another team, but that team has no control over the TCM budget!
