I think "new" GM is the exact same as the "old" GM. I think both would throw babies in front of a passing train if they thought they could make money off it.

Looking at the 2016 Volt, it seems to me like they did a pretty damn good job. Combined fuel economy is estimated to increase by 10% (37->41 mpg), electric range increased by 35% (37->50 mi), while taking 200+ lbs off of the curb weight and adding another passenger seat. And it's supposedly faster too.

I'm not sure how your calculating efficiency but the EV only range improved 25%. I'd say that's pretty darn good.

Mercedes W220:

Keep in mind that the E36 M3 came out with 287 HP and then was bumped up to 321 DIN HP and was rocking a flappy paddle gear box back in 1996. America just sucks and they gave us a 325 that had a little more displacement. The reality is that the M3 was always a game changer.

At least the M6 Gran Coupe and A7/S7 aren't terrible to look at. I'm quite a fan of the A7 shape, actually.

It looks like The Game changed this car a lot.

You don't know cars, I take it.

The Honda Civic Si was once the leader in the sport compact segment. Back in 1999, the Si was a real game changer with its 8,200 rpm redline, excellent chassis, and affordable price. Since then, it has been attacked from all angles. Now it's behind the pack. Honda rushed out updates to keep the ball rolling: new

The Honda Insight tried to start its own game:

That's an easy one.

Remember me?

Ford thunderbird.

The A3 is an interesting example, because the 5 door form was here in the United States for like 6 years and did nothing. I actually believe it only existed to boost sales of the A4. (Oh no honey we can TOTALLY get an Audi for $29,999, see, look! Oh well why would we buy that when we can get an A4 for $4k more?!)

[Ferrari was particularly proud of their underbody air management for the 550 Maranello. The whole thing looks like a nice sweet skidplate to me. Anyone up for rallycross? Photo: Ferrari]

Air Jordans?

I laughed so hard at the E-Series Cutaway RS.

How's it hangin' Roy?
