With the deaths someone on io9 suggested that they should have killed Abraham in the finale and then killed Glenn in the premiere. I would have been mad that Glenn’a comic death was taken from him, but also totally startled that Negan killed him too if it was split.

The only reason I defend Glenn’s eyeball popping demise is because it is frame by frame taken from the comics.
