How is this surprising? She has a British identical twin!!!
How is this surprising? She has a British identical twin!!!
I know! And the character was perfect for her, but it was really odd to see her in designer clothes and jewelry. And as a mom! And in a sex scene! But she was still great.
Berger, if that’s how you spell it. She had chemistry with Berger until he dumped her on a post it note.
I hope Janeane Garofalo is in the first five episodes and then gets mysteriously written out of the show.
Interesting—I never liked her with any of the major male actors she was cast with on SATC—that show was all about the chemistry with the women for me. I think her real soul mates were her girlfriends, not the guys she had sex with.
omg saaaaaame. my flatmate came out into the living room around 4 a.m., as i was just finishing ep 13, and timidly asked if everything was okay, because i was crying SO HARD i woke her up. all i could do was sob incoherently about “this show and this week i cannot”
I wish someone would say this about me one day.
“There are children of light and children of darkness. His world was very dark. We have a choice, even if you’re not a Christian you know what’s good; you know the choice of darkness and the people who are acting out that darkness. Justin is married now to Jennifer. They are, I believe, alike in spirit. They…
“They compliment one another the spirit of the world brought them together.”
I watched Parks and Rec after finishing this season, too. It helped a little!
Yes, which is why it’s important that the show put it out there. Protesting the wrong thing, at the wrong time, without understanding the full story, and thinking you’re right just because you’re raging can often do more harm than good.
I kinda wish we’d gotten that gospel from Cindy and Taystee that they mentioned....
That seriously disgusted me, but I was glad they wrote it. Just highlights how ridiculous it is for those gaurds to be looking down their noses at the prisoners. Knowing that Poussey was in there for weed, when this monster can walk around and not even care about what he’s done? And I don’t doubt for a second that…
Wow that's a beautiful thought. I love that!
Suzanne’s situation gutted me because it was just so real. I sympathized with her sister’s burnout from being a caregiver to an adult, while simultaneously hating her for leaving someone who was mentally a child alone for an entire weekend.
I was up until 4 am watching this, sobbing into a pillow through the last hour and a half of that, and ended up putting Parks & Rec reruns on to recalibrate as I slept. Didn’t work.
I think part of the important commentary is that while Taystee came to the conclusion that shielding the guard meant there wasn’t going to be justice for her friend - Caputo’s actions actually worked towards getting real justice.
The show is genius in sending all your feelings going back and forth about people. Look at Pennsatucky’s rapist- he was genuinely horrified to hear Tuck say he raped her- he became practically a moral pillar. Then, in the last episode, the rapist part comes back in. It’s really, really, good TV.
Suzanne’s backstory was so fucking heartbreaking.
Imagine if people were capable of enjoying a television show AND working for actual justice in the world.
