From Dune, the rainy midnight visit of the Bene Gesserit and the tense what’s in-the-box test sequence has to be up there among the most memorable scenes I saw this year. Just an incredible combination of score, imagery, and sinister ambience.

The final scene in Annette deserves a shout out as well. I kept trying to figure out what the movie was going for, and that final scene wraps it up nicely. Plus, the little girl in that scene is shockingly good.

Why does he need to be Astaire? Why can’t he just be Tom Holland playing a new role that happens to be a skilled dancer? Why does everything need to be something that already happened. Woof. Be more creative Amy Pascal.

Mario and Luigi are Italian-American plumbers from NYC, Brooklyn I think, and in no way, shape, or form from the Mushroom Kingdom. I’m pretty sure that is common and basic knowledge.

1) Millennials are between 25-40 by now, at this point it’s more likely they missed the movie because they have kids lol. 2) Is there a universe when this is a huge hit? Even leaving out the subject matter, I don’t think medieval-set movies do all that well usually, unless they’re fantasy.

I’m glad that old people are still confusing all us 30ish millennials with those damn kids. Makes me feel younger.

Yeah it’s extremely difficult to take the director of *Gladiator* seriously when he pretends he doesn’t make dumb movies for ignorant people (and still, 21 years later, brags about how many awards Gladiator won). What an ass.

Gladiator and The Martian seem pretty universally liked”

Well, this millennial saw it in the theater. And liked it quite a bit. Check and mate, Sir Scott.

How do we stop BTS?

B- grade is too high.

Was not that impressed this week at all.

Why do they gotta give Pete Davidson a song every episode? They're always middling and just feel like they're taking up time

Does anyone else feel like the whole “Hollywood Handshake” thing diminishes Prue as a judge? It definitely doesn’t feel to me like her opinion is nearly as important as Paul’s, and that doesn’t sit well with me.

He stole that line from family guy.  “Something Something Dark Side.”

i LOVED ‘inherent vice’. i loved the book more, but part of the pleasure of watching the movie was that feeling of “i can’t believe they actually made this”.  i totally get why some don’t dig it, though.

if this delivers the same vibe, i’m all in

I would have put Inherent Vice at the center of the “unfilmable” pile based upon the disorienting experience of reading the book, which often makes nonsensical jumps that you only gradually figure out. The fact that PTA was able to make a coherent story that maintained that sense of disorientation and confusion was

This is probably the first time I think I've rooted for a corporation

Why the long face, Brighstoneus simmondsi?

The celebrities in the audience threw me for a loop. It was fun to spot the different A-listers in the crowd, but it would’ve been great if it was full of super-fans, or teachers, or nurses, etc.

Despite her groomed appearance, there was no holding back from Adele.”  What a weird line.
