This reminded me of The Hustler with Craig Ferguson as host. What ever happened to that? It was actually kind of fun.

Never heard of Philip Roth?
Just dropping in to say he was in Richard Linklater’s Apollo 10 1/2: A Space Age Childhood last year, and that’s a super underrated movie.
Totally disagree, the film is delightful. At least until that moment with the Mona Lisa, but that’s at the end.
Not really. The Godfather, Gandhi, Rain Man, The Silence of the Lambs, Forrest Gump, Titanic, Gladiator... the Academy has historically given the top prize to huge commercial hits. Only in very recent years has it gone for smaller films, which is a good thing fyi.
I will never understand nor buy the idea that Williams is a supporting actress in The Fabelmans. She is the female lead, clear and simple, as was Patricia Neal in Hud.
This might blow your mind, then: there’s another, completely unrelated rapper right now named Da Baby.
The film, which originally premiered in theaters over a year ago
Big powerful invincible American man Tom Cruise, with the actual might of Navy money and real war machines, obliterating a literally nameless, faceless Foreign Enemy? Reads like straight propaganda to me.
You can’t “steal” the show when you’re the lead/title character of a biopic. It’s yours to begin with!
Which is baffling, because the movie tells us she’s from Staten Island and that’s so far-fetched and impossible to believe it’s not even funny. Reverseshot.org wrote a really good piece on that illusion-killing detail.
Great
Wrong. See Saint Omer or All the Beauty and the Bloodshed.
I’d easily place it in picture, director, screenplay, cinematography, production design, and editing. Maybe score. Sound, too, where it bafflingly wasn’t even shortlisted. It definitely didn’t deserve the full blanking.
Agreed, this was easily a highlight of the season. Very weird review.
It looks like he’s had about nine cosmetic surgeries, which is definitely not something you’d expect on a legendary skateboarder.
Avatar felt “overlong, even though it was relatively short?” Also, hard to claim the films lack focus or direction.
It didn’t make the shortlist, so it’s out.
That’s a really outdated definition; it applies to the film medium but certainly not digital.
This guy’s eyes are bigger. He looks like a live-action anime character here.
