*lol*, too true. I laugh because it's either that or headdesk.

Well, it wasn't the very first thing...I was an utter mess for about an hour. But I knew it was something my mom had wanted to do, and I wanted to make sure I respected her wishes. Taking care of her remains felt like a final gift to her, and that gave me some comfort.

If she's as smart as I think she is, she would have installed heaters under the flooring. (I would if I had the cash.)

"Bitched out" is supposed to be shorthand for being cowardly? No me gusta. What a bunch of misogynistic garbage. Asshole.

For me, organ donation was one of the first things I thought of once I began accepting that my mom was dead. The doctor came into her room, and I asked how soon we'd have to move on donation, and he gave me this look like I was nuts and then I remembered - she died of a blood cancer. None of her parts could be used.

I do stuff like that with little kids on public transit. If they're crying and I can catch their eye, I make a exaggerated sad face at them. Then a silly face. Within a few moments, they usually forget that they were upset and are laughing at me. Makes for a much nicer commute for everybody. It doesn't always work,

Oh, balls. Someone must be cutting onions; my eyes are getting all watery.

You've reminded me of one of my absolute favourite Calvin & Hobbes strips:

I thought that was frozen veggie mix (corn and carrots) on first glance. That's frigging nasty.

What I want to know is where I can find an audio file of Whitney's cover. Because that would be amazing, I bet.

I'm keeping the ones I grew out of, in case I have a kid who gets into vintage fashion >.>

My waist-hip ratio isn't quite as extreme as that, but I do know that feeling. It fits my hips, but gaps like woah at the waist. Greaaaat. I loved the men's phat pants, but getting a size that fit my hips, they crotched about 8 inches below my actual rise, and I'd end up with thigh-chafe after a night of dancing, if I

Yyyyeah...something tells me she may feel differently about things in four years or so.

*snerk* Indeed.

Agreed - the idea of being able to vote on leadership and referendums on the same ticket is an intriguing one. It would certainly save money!

Removing the ability to vote on who's charge seems like it runs counter to the most basic notion of a republic :/

I'm now imagining an elegant library with shacks and other half-assed additions slapped onto it. "And that's how we ended up with a sink on the roof!"

Thank you! I wasn't expecting someone to do the legwork for me :D

Maybe even second terms that are non-consecutive?

Truthfully, I did mean senators. I'm not very familiar with that part of the American political system. I didn't know there were only two per state. This has been an educational thread for me for sure :)
