That’s one of the things I dig about her.
Terry makes it clear, right off the bat, that she’s not your publicist and not your stenographer. If you want press, you’re going to have to answer uncomfortable questions and, oftentimes, that means answering very personal question to start off with to set the tone.
Or maybe overprepared.
In this context, Gross was referencing something in the autobiography Abby was doing Press for.
That was my guess too. I’ve listened to Gross off and on over the years. She meticulously prepares for every interview. I’d almost be willing to be that Wambaugh’s bio refers to this in someway.
And just by Wambaugh’s response, the question by itself is not as preposterous as this article makes it out to be.
“I’ve been hit that way three times”
Hmm. Once is an occurrence. Twice is a coincidence. But three times??? Sounds like a trend there. What's the common factor?
You are swell!
He was more offensive than she will ever be. Terry is a damn good interviewer because she asks questions that a lot of people would like to but aren’t brave enough (or able, because they don’t have access). I’ve been in broadcasting LONGER than she has and would be too polite to ask this question - but listeners can…
“Hi, welcome to Fresh Air. I’m Terry Gross. You may know Jesus of Nazareth from his kicking the moneylenders out of the temple or possibly from his biographical anthology, The Bible. Jesus, welcome to the program.”
Wambach did the interview as part of the press tour for her autobiography. I’m guessing that Gross used information disclosed in the book. I haven’t read it, I could be wrong.
And for his next trick, Trump will appoint his prized racehorse Incitatus to the Senate.
I just want you to know I have enjoyed reading this thread and your measured responses to those defending the overconsumption of meat. I’ve read a lot on both sides, from both industry and environmental standpoints, and I know that you are right about pretty much everything you’ve said so far, but it’s really, really…

No worries, and I do agree with you that milk isn’t healthful overall (logically, something that is meant to support the massive growth that occurs right after birth is going to be nutritional overkill for someone who has achieved their adult size). I appreciate you being so open to civil discourse!
That isn’t true. Seriously, it isn’t. I sincerely doubt milk is good for you, but acid-ash is a wide-disproven fringe theory.
Show me a two-door single cab, longbed with a four cylinder, 5- or 6-speed stick and we can talk about a sale.
The cool thing with the Ranger, and what made it unique ... and probably killed it ... is that it was one of the last “small” trucks out there. Dakota grew into nearly full-size. Colorado was never small.
BRING BACK (actually) SMALL PICKUPS
Whoever built that house should have invested in a fucking level!
