Even worse than the TVTropes rabbit hole?

I took one for the team and listened. It is so bland and mushy that I have already forgotten how it sounded. This is not white music; it is so lacking in colour, it is transparent. Do you understand what I’m saying? Even normal white music is more interesting than this cover!

Truck focus group: “See, I have this dick, right? And sometimes? My dick gets bigger and goes up! Can you make the truck go up, big, like my dick?”

Eh, I don’t know. It could use some armour plates and a cow-catcher up front. And a roof-mounted fog horn.

You’re being raccist!

Absolutely, people must pay attention on the road. We all agree on that.

All that said, though, I do look forward to the day that autonomous driving is a practical reality, if only to make the days I have to do 10-hour road trips a bit more manageable.

In fact, if idiots like me (and I do know what autopilot is, but I’ll indulge you for the sake of argument) think that the term autopilot means total automation, since that is a commonly perpetuated misconception in modern media, then marketers are required to take that into account, as there may be liabilities for

I draw the line at car manufacturers and legislators telling me that I can’t jerk off in my car. You’re not the president of me!

I already said that Tesla isn’t responsible for accidents, right?

I agree. Much like every user on Facebook should read the terms of service, etc.

I can definitely see the benefit of self-driving cars, and I look forward to the eventual stage of precision and safety it will achieve, but we’re still in the infancy of the concept.

If I die on my next flight, I shall be very upset about it.

That’s kind of in line with my point. The majority of the population who see the word do indeed misuse/misunderstand the term. Tesla is not responsible for the misunderstanding, but they ought to have been aware of it when choosing to market the name.

Correct, and marketers should be aware of that commonplace misapprehension when naming their products.

All true, and yet most people tend to think that autopilot does just that, thanks to movies and popular culture. Tesla used that phrase, perhaps technically accurately, but maybe didn’t reckon with what that word means to many, if not most, drivers.

You’re right, but if you ask the common person, they’re going to misconstrue the term autopilot. Thanks to all the movies and shows and books that have used the term incorrectly, many people don’t recognize the necessary limitations of autopilot.

You are correct. What I’m talking about is the public perception of what the word autopilot means. As vague and technically innacurate as it is, it’s necessary for marketers to realize what the cultural acceptance of their buzzword will mean. If you tell an American market that the car has “Autopilot,” regardless what

Maybe they shouldn’t have called it ‘Autopilot’? Call it Driver-Assist. Don’t call it by a term that is widely used to mean complete automation.

It was a trailer full of grain, so I don’t know how heavy or solid it was, compared to a trailer of sand, for example. Still, it would put a dent in the brdige, that’s for sure. Quebec’s infrastructure is also notoriously bad, so it may also be a poorly-made bridge.
