Guns do not provide protection. They allow you to return fire, but as long as someone is shooting at you, you are in as much of danger of getting hurt with or without that gun. It’s not a defensive tool, it is an offensive weapon with no other purpose than to cause injury.

Players have to pay taxes on their salaries based on the states where their games are played, so imagine their accountants calculating the amount of time they spent on each base to get those tax filings correct. Hell, that makes it more interesting to me.

Also, the whole point of the movie is it is carved out of a corn field. There are no fences.

There’s a lot more than goes into manufacturing guns than making drugs, but I’m sure there will always be people who will try to create a black market for the items that are banned. But this won’t be like distilling liquor in your bathtub or growing a plant. Making guns requires having a factory, sourcing the raw

All the people who refuse to meet with him, including athletes, are missing a prime opportunity to shame him right to his stupid face. I can’t understand why they won’t use that opportunity to do it.

I’d meet with him. Yes, please let me meet the president, and bring all your cameras in close because I want to remember this day for the rest of my life.

They always say everything about Trump is a joke. He was joking, it’s just a light-hearted jab, he’s just playing to the crowd, clearly he was just having fun in the moment. Yeah, and that’s the problem. He’s not in charge of his thoughts enough to not be influenced whomever is around him at any particular moment, and

The problem is we started and didn’t keep going. The assault weapons ban went into effect in the 90s before those guns were popular with the general public. But the ban made them desirable and then when it expired, tons of people rushed to buy them and now they are everywhere and regularly get used in mass shootings.

The people who looked at the California shooter who traveled to Nevada to buy his gun because it was banned in California and said “see, banning guns doesn’t work” truly astound me. No, you idiot, it means it worked. If that gun was banned in Nevada too and Arizona and Oregon and Washington and the whole damn country

People genuinely believe having the gun makes them safer and ensures they won’t be a victim. Those people are not willingly getting rid of their guns.

Yes. They would have to look at their online presence, determine this person is likely to commit a mass shooting, use that information to obtain a warrant and search their house. But the only thing that search will do is (maybe) find an illegal weapon. And a lawyer could argue that search is a violation of the Fourth

It is absolutely impossible to do. I know someone who tracks hate groups and people who belong to them, and whenever there is one these shootings they will “see if he’s one of ours” and the shooter almost never is. But once the name is known, they can dig it up in a matter of minutes.

Do not besmirch Buffalo Wild Wings in this manner. They serve wings and beer and have sports on TV, but the similarities stop there. The worst item on the BWW menu would be the best item at Hooters.

Hooters is most definitely not the place to go for wings. Go to, well, literally anywhere else.

Honestly, it’s not all that uncommon. People who have heard of Hooters but never been to one think it’s weird. People who have been there get it. Hooters actually had games and stuff they would do with kids and a special birthday thing for them. It’s a lot of more standard sports bar than most people realize, except

The acronym FIBA comes from the French translation Fédération Internationale de Basketball.” The “A” is because the organization’s name used to include Amateur, but it dropped that from its official name but not the acronym.

I laughed at that $75,000 annual salary. No way. The big names got good money, but the rank and file anonymous people who make the whole operation work are probably getting half that.

There’s no way those salaries are $75,000. Like, for the big names, yeah they’re pulling in good money, but the average editorial staffer whose name you’ve never heard of, $75,000 probably covers two people. This is, after all, a media company. By definition, it does not pay well.

People confuse the Onion and Babylon Bee for real news all the time. There are even websites dedicated to showing all the times it happens.

I have a cousin who posts links to reaganwasright.com (the site has gone away ... bummer) who would do so most likely without reading beyond the headline. The site was fake and written to intentionally troll conservatives. There were disclaimers all over the site pointing out that it was fake and included links in the
