First two seasons were really good and I definitely appreciated their more weird and more experimental episodes. But so far this season, I’m getting some whiffs of “getting high on your own supply” from this show.

Produce and televise the celebrity roast of Will Smith hosted by Chris Rock.

I give the crowd a pass. They probably still weren’t sure if it was an act or not, and the fact that Smith was up there accepting an award lent credence to it being planned entertainment.

The standing ovation from the crowd is almost as befuddling as the slap itself. you’d figured at some point all the performative caring about social issues and justice would have actually sunk in. I guess because it was only a half hour the audience of movie stars didn’t have time to realize or have their PR team text…

That is depressing. The old saying, “where you sit is where you stand...”

Only thing missing was like in C’ant Hardly Wait when said bully Mike (Peter Facinelli) goes to the house party and Amanda (JLH) shows up and hes all like “AmanDUH” when she wont take him back...and the crowd sides with her.

I saw a tweet or something that outlines it perfectly as a super bowl ad next year, like a “tastes great/less filling!” faux argument. 

Sounds like something written for him by his agent’s assistant with the publicist on speakerphone, you don’t get to hit UNDO on a moronic outburst like that

It’s not just Hollywood. Ayanna Pressley, a progressive member of Congress, responded by tweeting “Thank you Will Smith. Shout out to all the husbands who defend their wives”.

Chris Rock did nothing wrong. Will Smith should be charged with assault. He and his dumb wife have been putting their business out there for all to consume and this causes Will to lose it? NO!

That was like the passive aggressive version of Will Smith/Chris Rock. Costner told a kinda lame, way too long story, and Campion coulda just ignored it but chose violence instead.

I don’t know. I think you’re leaping to a wild conclusion that Glover is rejecting all criticism, vs rejecting criticism from people whose opinions don’t need to be catered to.

That “free hugs” line is very, very darkly funny.

Spider-Man alone could have provided an entire season of hosts

so true, gorgeous gorgeous girl, but she’s so very modern looking. her and Blake Lively I’m always thrown when they are in anything time period related.
