When’s the last time you saw a proprietary Microsoft-branded peripheral reduce in price? Remember the 100 dollar (about $6 million in today’s money) wireless adapter for xbox 360? It dropped down to 80 only when they made a newer faster one when they popped out a slightly faster one.

People commending Kinja for at least not being as bad as what’s happening at Speedrun dot com should know that Kotaku already made these mistakes with their comments section in the beginning, then slowly introduced “common-sense” protections until Kinja came along and undid everything, then it slowly got better, then

it’s possible to set up a U.S. Nintendo account from any country, and then add that to your Switch. It’s a clumsy workaround, but it does mean you can buy from the U.S. store, and so enjoy your illicit zombie-bashing on the sly.”

Good for you, man.

Looking forward to reading more needlessly padded summaries of mundane events from you.

not all games are actually guaranteed support” and “we haven’t really found something that we could throw at this device that it couldn’t handle” aren’t mutually exclusive.

Your console-based save file won’t be compatible with the re-release, dummy head

That might seem like a fair and reasonable take, and it is, but the reality of those options is “would you like a lot of developer crunch, or a LOT MORE developer crunch”

As weird as it is to hand the crown of “Best gaming tablet” to the only device eligible for the award, it’s technically true, so I’ll allow it 😉.

Does anyone know of any GOOD iOS games that are controller-compatible? It seems that outside of Apple Arcade (or Asphalt [whatever number we’re on]) there aren’t any

I don’t think “there’s no release date yet” = “it should have a release date my now” imo.

Also “Big AAA games aren’t often pulled together until the last year” is an insane statement to make

I have a theory about the stutters that apparently only affect high-end nvidia GPU users. Nvidia drivers are notoriously CPU heavy, whereas AMD cards do all the driver-ing onboard. So maybe the interaction of the Nvidia driver overhead and Denuvo DRM overhead (also processed by the CPU) causes these stutters.

“When you buy AMD cpus and gpus, you know they’ve been tested to not only run well with each other (within a generation or two, at least), but have been specifically built to run BETTER with each other.

I personally think that a HUGE part of the toxicity comes from the complete inability to communicate in a high-speed, team-based, cooperative, real-time strategy game.

I’m sorry noone bit in. Here’s your reply

I don’t play Destiny so my opinion is worthless, but isn’t charging full(?) price for DLC that will disappear soon pretty scummy? How does Destiny’s f2p model work if the old content isn’t included in the free deal anyway?

What, that’s it?? No squashed bugs? No small fixes? No unnecessarily sassy, tongue-in-cheek, #relatable remarks?

I would’ve made a much better patch-notes writer

In case you aren’t joking, even Microsoft employees often buy game consoles, with and without xbox logos on them

You (or your clones) are always first here when League is mentioned. Anyone who plays the game with any regularity or can read the reportable offenses knows you’re full of shit though. Leading with a generally agreeable statement like “it’s a toxic trashfire” won’t distract us from noticing you’re part of it

the usual culprits like texture details don’t seem to have much impact at all on performance here”

Placebo. Texture quality almost NEVER affects performance (unless you’re trying to use 4K textures on a graphics card released over a decade ago)

With how often it autosaves, this REALLY isn’t an issue unless you’re trying to savescum. But if you’re that intent to cheat your way out of the timeloop, you can always manually trigger an autosave by going back to base.

I get that Manual Saving is a habit most of us picked up at an age before abundant storage space

I can’t believe the reigning leader of an entire country has fewer life skills than a child who was literally raised by wolves.”
