Neutral: What Are You Expecting From the Mid-Engine Corvette Tonight?

This is jedi-level Volvo knowledge. I’ve seen this raw strength only once before. It didn’t scare me enough then. It does now.

Volvo’s car division is the topic this time

Imagine if after a life of going to work every single day doing the same boring, repetitive job so you can feed your 4 kids and put them through college, you finally pay off your house at the age of 60 and are ready to go out and buy your first brand new car, the car you’ve been dreaming about but couldn’t afford.

Too bad that finding a front engine Corvette is so difficult in the secondary market.  Hardly any of them left nowadays.  It’s only a pool that consists of every single one ever made in the last 1000 years, since they don’t get worn out when used as third cars for retired couples.

GenXers are getting in their 40's right now, many are gainfully employed, and hence why cars like the E30 M3, Integra Type R, and Supra have EXPLODED in value.  This is absolutely the market they want to be in.

Don’t piss off your sole customer base. It’s like Harley Davidson saying our new bikes won’t support anyone who weighs over 140 pounds.

I agree that the Niro is not an SUV. I also agree that most CUVs are just lifted hatchbacks. I yearn for the days of old when my parent’s had a wagon that would hold a sheet of plywood in the back and lots of rear overhang. I’m pretty sure that the back seats in my Mom’s Catalina wagon were at least 5 or 6 feet in

This. Crossovers didn’t kill this thing single-handedly.

If a wagon is a stretched 2 box sedan (coupe) on a car chassis, most CUVs are really probably wagons because they are mostly just 2 box vehicles on a (slightly lifted) car chassis. Some people do not want the stigma of that wagon word. My sister is currently in the market for what she calls an SUV. Really, she is

And thus, millions of Jalop voices suddenly cried out in terror and were suddenly silenced.

“Hey, I have an idea! I’ll take the only car I own, drive it to work and while I’m at work I’ll rent it out as a taxi! Then when I’m ready to go home, I’ll ‘summon’ it back to the office! It’s literally win-win and my car value goes up!”

So true.

I hate to tell Ford, but most folks who buy an Outback would be as likely to switch to Ford as your average MacBook buyer would be willing to consider a Chromebook. Never gonna happen.

They are German. It has likely only gotten worse.

Who are you trying to convince exactly ?

And it’ll sticker at like $45K easy.  Saw a new Ranger outside costco on display..$45K sticker. WTF.
