I recently purchased a Niro and I am shocked about how much room it actually has. Both me and my wife are bigger people and fit comfortably in it with adult passengers in the back and plenty of luggage compartment, not to mention that its a hybrid and we are easily averaging over 50 mpg with it. Even the base models

Instead of calling it a Hybrid system, brand it as a High-Voltage Electric Turbo (or something more marketing friendly).

You could apply this to ambulances too. Ambulances spend a lot of time just sitting around idling.

I’m still amazed that no company has developed replaceable battery systems for fleet delivery vehicles. You have 100 delivery vans, buy 150-200 batteries. That way they can always have full batteries available for them, even if one was running low during the day it can go back to home base and either swap batteries or

Plus the fleet manager no longer has to deal with credit cards or reimbursement for fuel costs and is down to a single contract for the charger and electricity.

I think this is a great take. It’d also get a lot of Joe-Six-Pack types into an EV and familiar with their workings long before the market would convince them to do it on their own. And, if the pricing for the vehicles was on point, many a fleet manager could be convinced by the lower maintenance costs and lack of

Harley needs to bring in new brand name for their bikes, and build a new market up from the ground on that. The HD name can be used for merchandising instead, they are three quarter the way to it being a merch brand annyway.

Meanwhile for $10k cheaper...

Hopefully with a bit more sound proofing. I love the fit and its practicality, but its pretty loud on the highway

I still think the electric work truck and work van segment is where we need to exist. Many of my clients are home services contractors (plumbers, roofers, electricians, garage door installers, etc), and for the most part, they’re all doing 2-3 jobs per day, and their tools are all electric.

Not-hot take: Right bike, wrong manufacturer, insane price.

Exactly!!  Most of my life is commuting. When I do something else, my wife has an SUV and we’re good.

Wear a full face helmet. If you are the Bike Editor, Expense it

No.

For sure, I just wanted a cool picture haha

I’ll take a PHEV CAR with 50 miles of battery range and good seats. All the cars today come with every imaginable convince I could think of.

I dunno about sporty, early ‘00s graphics minivans, but electric delivery vans are a segment that absolutely needs more investment.

Have you tried a Ford C-Max? My dad has health issues and I took him car shopping last year. He got in and out of dozens of cars at every major dealership. He ended up getting a CPO C-Max plug in. Great car for people, a bit less good for luggage.

Neutral: Well for starters, I’d like to see an AWD EV that doesn’t cost a minimum $70k. I know used AWD Model Ses are starting to creep down to $35k, but still. Or give me a good PHEV SUV with AWD and decent electric range.

You’re telling me the company that has balanced it’s balls on bankruptcy and small cash flow doesn’t want to invest into a market that is pretty much cornered and demands perfection from every automobile?
