amen. it’s not just the middle class that’s disappearing. the definition of middle class is all fucked up too.

Not when you’re complaining about how it only helps people in a better-than-average “financial position”. It explains that any pretense of giving assistance to people based on income is just marketing spin. The harsh reality is that Congress and the auto makers don’t care who buys the cars.
It’s not just the price tag for me. I don’t have a good way to install a charger at my home, and I’m sure I’m far from alone in this. With my amount of driving I would need the upgraded charger for sure, along with charging stations almost as plentiful as gas stations.
Never. We should never stop incentivizing EV’s. At least not until they make up 3/4 of new sales.
Or maybe just don’t give incentives on luxury EV’s.
The tax credit is not intended to help the buyer. It’s intended to help the seller.
The high-tech headlights will be able to process information and react, such as by illuminating poorly lit crossings, signaling pedestrians that it’s safe to cross and raising an alarm to surrounding drivers by flashing a specific color.
oh just 11 billion wow, i lose more than that between the couch cushions
That bumper sticker in the lede really riles me up. No, UAW, stop lying to your members - it was the government, over two administrations, that dumped $51B into GM (not including GMAC) and saved their asses. Net loss to taxpayers was $11B.
A rebate of $7,500 is no chump change. Would you be happy with that? Or would you want more?
It is to keep the spinning brushes from snagging on the many nooks and crannies that an exposed wiper arm has.
You guys are all missing something much, MUCH more obvious that either didn’t get captured well in the photo or was mostly cropped out for this presentation. Look at what the Santa Fe is carrying in that photo on the roof.
The best part about this comment is the dude that took it seriously.
Still...could be worse... These are the before and after pictures of a 1980s Alfa Arna
I think the OP was being sarcastic...
I’m going to guess that the owner went to a car wash, they put one of those dumb plastic bag things around the wiper, and they forgot to take it off. For several weeks. And the bag filled with water.
Meanwhile, over on the bicycle front:
I put these ridiculous Low Profile rims-and-tires in the same mental bucket as the nonsensical Start-Button+Huge-Fob craze.
“The tire in question is a rather low 35-profile tire, 235/35/20 to be exact. It is yet-lower profile than the 195/40/17 that blew on the VW I was charge with.”
Don't forget, more sidewall = better ride and cheaper tires (to a point). There is literally no downside (unless you are trying to fit over massive brakes but honestly how big do you need in most cars?)
