LKAS is the knee replacement we have been waiting for! I am also guilty of using the LKAS to help me stay in the lane while opening a bottle. Out of habit I still apply a knee to the wheel, but I am sure that the car is running more true because of LKAS.

Sure. But I would rather every bag go off and possibly save a life than have a bag not go off and possible not save a life.

I can prep a gear. If I know I want to save half a second for something like a quick spurt of power, choosing the gear beforehand is nice.

First Gear: Are monthly payments going up?

My 106 BHP hybrid has paddle shifters and a DCT. Its fun as long as I’m under the speed limit :)

This is exactly why I didn’t go to a higher trim of my car. The lower trims came with AA / CarPlay and all I wanted in the higher trims were the nicer seats. $1000 aftermarket and I have the nicer seats (literally factory seats) without having to spend another $2000 on a useless navigation system.

... You plug the phone in to use Carplay so it will charge?...

1. My car’s multi-blink (I can tell it how many blinks I want) is actually cancel-able with a half-stroke movement of the stalk the other way. I have mine set for 7 blinks.

My car has a driver attention monitoring system. Like I don't know I'm tired.

My LKAS keeps the car in the lane without having to touch the wheel... And if I stick an orange in the wheel I can fall asleep for miles! /s

This looks like a Formula Student car with a lawnmower body instead of a formula body. Same tires (those specific Hoosier tires were developed for Formula Student - they’re called out as such in the tire catalog), similar engine, different final drive.

I like my Ioniq. What is the biggest haul in the truck you have managed so far?

Hahaha! Now this is a hilarious idea. I love it!

My Ioniq comes in over 3000lbs, but the bare-bones version slips under at 2996lbs. Easily fits 4 adults, or 2 adults and 3 kids and their crap or the family dog.

I’m a fan of my Ioniq’s hybrid system which uses a torque-y flywheel motor that runs through the DCT. It allows for a much higher power system than a typical starter-style mild hybrid system and shouldn’t have too much of an effect on the implementation of manual or automatic transmissions since it is essentially just

Hypermiling in my mind is just smooth driving taken to the nth degree. IMO, true hypermiling is about equally as selfish on the road as treating it like a race track. Pulse and coast or sluggish intersection crossings are prime examples of this idea.

Here here!

I drive a Hyundai Ioniq HEV, so EPA says it should be in the mid 50s for MPG. If I drive it “normally”, then I get the 55-60MPG figures per fill up. I usually go between 500-600 miles between fill ups (10 gallons) and that typically covers a variety of roads and traffic conditions (inner city, suburbia, wild west inter

Easy. Stopping from 80MPH in a heavy truck is less than 0.75kWh.

I get ~10-15MPG better driving like a sane person vs driving like I’m on a track (yet to go in the hybrid, will report back in August what it gets on track).
