The cost of batteries alone would probably put full electrification out of economic feasibility.

I have never understood the appeal of red interiors. Different strokes, I guess...
The Berettas were pretty cool. I would say enough stuff is different that it is its own car, rather than a 2-door Corsica.
Not true. My Grandparents had a silver one. I learned to drive stick in it.
Some of us like to grind it in our teeth in the morning. A couple of coffee beans with a pinch of methamphetamine will perk you up. Or, add some coffee grounds to a bottle of Coca-Cola. It’s the only cola with real cocaine inside!
EB is a different car, but OK. :/ You are correct that if you go to the Mustang6g forum there are more than a handful of people who bought an EB and ended up trading for a GT. But lots of us love our EBs. Yeah, it doesn’t have as much power or the rumble, but there’s about a $6k price difference, it’s lighter up front…
Indeed, lots of shear forces at work here. Scary stuff!
That’s true, Mustang hoods only look like they’re constantly going to blow off whenever you get above 50 mph. :)
I’m going to go a step further and say that we should be looking at fully electric school buses in the near future. I don’t know how much battery capacity would be needed to get through a day (or at least the morning and afternoon parts of the schedule) but it should be easy to calculate. It seems to me that most…
I was thinking the same thing. How do you compare a company that already has level 2 or 3 autonomous tech on the road to a company that has nothing in the wild but is working hard on level 4 or 5?
In a utopia that would be awesome. But that would be mind-bogglingly expensive and time-consuming to do, especially country (or even region) wide. Just getting a single light rail line built in a city that’s not used to public transit spending can be a political nightmare. I can see this type of thing working in some…
I think everyone missed your joke.
Also, if you’re bored I wrote some more detailed notes about the cars I drove in a rather long-winded blog:

Oh yeah, no doubt. Having said that, the fact that the 86 twins have so much less stuff and a way less powerful engine should make up for most of it, IMO. Of course, I’m not an accountant or project manager for either company so I could be totally wrong.
It was very nice. Kind of apples and oranges. Obviously it has way more room and you can actually carry passengers in the back seat. It had the nicest stereo out of all the cars I drove (it had the optional Fender stereo). I drove one with the dual-clutch (the only automatic equipped car I drove) and that thing is…
I’ve never heard of this “personal umbrella” thing. I’ll have to look into it now.
I might have to look into pricing on $500k. Right now I’m at 100/300/100. I actually had mine at 50/100/50 for quite some time because it’s something I just hadn’t thought about. I think most people are oblivious to the potential liability if they hit an expensive car or kill/seriously injure someone and their limits…
Yeah, tell me about it on the Comp Orange. I was on the fence about buying my 2016 for a while and then I had to hurry up and place my order right before they discontinued that color with the 2017s. It caught me off gaurd because they moved the model year turnover up from fall to spring.
Economy of scale explains some of it, but probably not all. It’s not like Toyota and Subaru are selling only 3,000 of these a year. And relative to the Mustang it is kind of a stripper car. Also, I don’t think Ford is really overproducing these things. A lot of these cars are special ordered and I think most of the…
Oh, I wasn’t saying you could get a comparably equipped GT for the same price, just that you could get similar discounts. That is, you’re not going to get an EB for $15k less than a comparable GT. If you can haggle down $8k on an EB I would imagine you could get $5-7k knocked off a comparable GT at the same dealer.
