People who are simple-minded enough to think that our electoral system’s distribution of power should reflect the true will of the electorate may be upset to wake up today and see that Democrats lost a net three Senate seats even though they received nine million more votes in Senate races. Abolishing the Senate

Again...2020 is a LONG ways away in political terms, and considering the moderate R’s that lost seats last night and who Trump campaigned for the GOP got more Trumpy.  The GOP will go how Trump goes, and I don’t think that bodes well for them the next two years.

Oh don’t get me wrong...the turnout for Beto is a massive win for dems in Texas despite the fact the Zodiac Killer got re-elected.

Guessing at this point is pointless. Two years is a LONG time. The point is R’s will have to defend 20 seats to the Dem’s 13.

Its two years from now...I think prognosticating at this point is pointless. A whole hell of a lot can and will happen between now and then. The point is R’s have 20 seats up to the D’s 13.

Yeah...the only senate race I am really dissapointed about was Beto’s.  I was sure he was going to steal it.

Dems won the House, they did it with a bigger margin than the Tea Party had in 2010, and Republicans lost 333 legislative seats, 7 governorships, and PA, WI, and MI (the states the got Trump elected).

A lot of it makes no fucking sense at all.

Good question...i’d put them somewhere between meteor strike and lottery win.

Can someone let me know when Splinter decides to devote more than 215 words to a race and a situation far more nuanced and complicated than Splinter seems to think it is?  Thanks!

Did Ellison lie to the Senate Judiciary Committee about his judicial record, or go on a conspiracy filled partisan rant during a confirmation hearing for the highest court in the land?

This needs to be un-greyed immediately.

Believe me..it was really the best midterm loss. Honestly we couldn’t have had a more bigly win.  Am I right?

It has to do with the number of in-cycle incumbents the dems had in the senate and where those incumbents were from. They had ten seats up in states that Trump won, and in order to get the majority back they would have needed most of those plus gop held seats in Nevada, Arizona, Tennessee and Texas.

I don’t think you realize how difficult taking the senate back considering the number of in-cycle incumbents they had, and where the races were. And even if they had taken the Senate, in order to impeach Trump, they would have needed 2/3 of the vote. That would have never happened.

Just googled...had no idea there was a controversy over who invented it.

The guy who invented e-mail is running against Elizabeth Warren???

The concept obviously hasn’t trickled down to HamNo yet.

Wait...I thought George Soros controlled the weather?  Why would he do this?
