See all of my previous comments about how keeping sex work underground keeps sex workers (like me!) vulnerable to exploitation by clients, pimps, and law enforcement.

Bringing it out in the open means that sex workers can take way more serious security measures. In legal brothels background checks and STD tests are required before entering and there are security cameras posted in common areas. Affording sex workers that kind of power and protection makes them very hard to target by

Thank you, but I don’t think it’s likely. I’m not an easy target as far as sex workers go. Most people that would want to hurt me won’t go as far as paying for a deposit or meeting in the cafe around the corner from my work space in broad daylight before walking to my dungeon.

Thanks for the information. I’m pretty aware of the resources and rights available to me. I also have a good client who is a criminal defense lawyer who has offered to arrange representation for me if things got bad.

I’m a dominatrix so I’m pretty much always holding something I can hurt someone with before I tie them up. Once they’re restrained I feel a lot safer :)

I’m sorry that my affinitylies for Echo and the Bunnymen and professional BDSM work are worrisome o.O

I’ve got it pretty good but it’s still dangerous.

Not sure if trolling or serious...

I’m as safe as I can be. I’ll be a lot less anxious when I relocate to a state where there is not a ban on my kind of sex work. Then I could actually run it above ground and advocate for sex workers with less fear of hostility.

Because sex workers are the most imperfect and therefore most deserving victims of this sort of brutality.

I’m really against personally owning a gun even if it’s just to have around my work space.

SW here!

It’s not even a little bit about censorship or pilicing airwaves. Criminalizing sex workers keeps sex work unsafe and makes sex workers vulnerable whether they chose it or were trafficked/coerced.

It was just the song that was playing when I created this account :) it is a little punny.

I’m not.

I feel very strongly that the only way sex work can be safe is if it is legal and there is some regulation, both from a personal safety perspective and a public health perspective.

I work in the BDSM niche out of a work space that I control. Again, I’m in a very privileged position as a SW. I’ve never personally encountered trafficked women because I don’t work out of the same spaces, namely hotels near my local major airport.

I’m a sex worker by choice. I’m lucky I have the choice and I love my work.

I actually use a diaphragm now. I can’t have an IUD due to having a wrong shaped uterus and hormonal birth control gives me mood swings. I really can’t sing the praises of diaphragms loud enough. It’s effective reversible birth control and it doesn’t chafe my insides like condoms do.
