That cone thing is an underhood trouble light on a cord real that you can use for night-time tire changes - throws a white beam and also a red caution. It was an option from the factory - I saw several when I worked for an AMC dealer back in ‘72.

$5-6K” ...only if that K stands for kronors

Winner: COTD.

That’s the part that made me vote ND. We had one of these turds when I was  kid, and I cannot fathom why someone would put a $3k paint job on a $35 car. Don’t even get me started on those hood pins.

A Chevette that

I had a friend who found out the hard way how much Mercedes hydraulic body leveling components cost in a CL500 a couple of years newer than this, and he chose to literally donate it for the tax write off instead of investing in Mercedes repairs in alignment with the price of gold per pound. Every new Mercedes sold in

I could totally see someone being like well it’s a convertible so I can drive with the top down most of the time and fit fine, use the hardtop when needed as it gives a bit more headroom than the soft top. Then realize with the hard top it can be a PITA to put it on and take it off/store it and what they thought was

Yeah, how the HELL do you buy a car w/o doing a test drive to see if you FIT!? That's the pure definition of stupidity

If the miles were all accrued going down the shore in the off season, they could be easy miles.  Since the car is listed in NY, I assume the seller is just trying to say that they aren’t “Manhattan miles”, and even Newark miles are easier than that.

NJ highway miles, you say?

Jersey represent!!

This is an incredibly cool car with some very desirable mods, but $25k is just too much for what it is. ND for me.

FFS. Just no.

Rode Hard and put away wet.

For the hobbyist, not a bad deal. For the safety-minded, something to avoid.

I remember when these were just worthless curiosities. It wasn’t that long ago.

Good question.  Maybe during the rebuild something else came up.
