Stretch and try for an early N/A Evora. You can find older ones in the low to mid 30's now. You get the fun, exclusivity and a decent attempt at everyday comfort. Butt dyno says it is faster than my 996. Much less refined, though. So it boils down to your taste.

On the surface it is definitely a NP but the quick flip tells me the owner discovered a thing or two about a thing or two. I eventually bought a similar one with 10k less miles but more (electrical) issues…

There’s barely a 911 tax anymore. I got my Boxster S w/ 72k miles and 911 (albeit a Cab) with 106k miles for almost the same price about a year apart.

A bit of a CP, but not by much. I bought a ‘99 cab with 106k miles (original IMS and hardtop) and an ‘02 Boxster S (engine replaced) both for $24k. None of what other people think about these models matter when you’re actually driving the hell out of your 996 on a beautiful mountain road.

CP by a mahoosive margin. I mean, the thing is beautiful and I love MR2 turbos. I have a soft spot for people sinking their life savings into cars. But for $11k it needs to be an original turbo, not a swap. Also, relatively speaking, I’m working on a 996 deal at $12k and, well, when viewed through that prism this one…

Just bought one and can report after 3 weeks of ownership that the VehiCROSS is pretty nimble thing on the street, with greater abilities than sideways hopping cow. Once I get her sorted, we’ll test out the Torque On Demand and external reservoir shocks these things were famous for.

So dude, I drove my wife’s inherited Camry once before we sold it, and I had a really hard time judging distances with the rear and side view mirrors. I think it’s a combination of the small mirrors and distinct lack of visual references on the slab side of the car. I’ve never had any such problems with any other car.…
