@Skunky: there are fairly inexpensive IR devices you can build or purchase that are compatible with all three OS's. Or, if you prefer, a $0.99 bluetooth dongle and a wireless media friendly keyboard should do the trick for you. Another alternative would be controlling the HTPC from your ipod touch/phone.

@drongch: skinning always messed with my functionality. VLC never works the same as when it is in its default form.

putting your bed up on cinderblocks gives a ton of room too
unless you're trying to keep up with the professor... then it could impossible to keep up with!
suggestion for lifehacker: it would be nice to be able to click the box around "The Art of the Argument | Psychology Today" and have it perform just like the link inside of the gray box.

@TekWarren: Maybe the challenge is nice, but that doesn't mean it won't take time. Our beloved devs shouldn't need to work harder than they have to.
