Is it still painfully slow?
I had been using the new Maps for a while, but ended up switching back. It sure looks pretty, but it lost a LOT of functionality!
One of my favorites is a temporary car wash - during a part of the early spring we get a lot - LOT!! of yellow pollen. and it covers the car. It took me a couple of hours to rig a frame that I could drive through, with a remote (used X10 motion sensor & salvaged washing machine water valve) to turn the water on & off…
A Raspberry Pi is much cheaper than $300 ($35 if you have a microusb and an SD card already). I run RaspBMC on it and haven't had a problem since I installed it about 6months ago. I use a very old laptop with a broken screen to run a fileserver connected to a 3TB external, and that's pretty much it.
I looked into Ting, and it's a little misleading to say you pay for "exactly what you use." You pay for the entire tier that your usage falls into. So if you use 500 megabytes of data, your data cost for the month is $13. If you use 501 megabytes, it's $24 because you've bumped up into the next tier.
why is avast recommended over mse when it includes a slight hassle of a 3rd party install and setup?
We always say the best protection is common sense, but that doesn't mean we recommend going unprotected. Antivirus programs are lightweight enough today that it's not nearly as much of a hassle as it used to be, as long as you pick the right one.
What about you guys? Do you use an antivirus program? I know a lot of you…
