Oh, you’re an Econ major?? Oh, well, excuse me. I’m just an Econ graduate and a successful businessman. If I’d know I was talking to an Econ major I would have deferred to your knowledge and expertise. ;)

Name one country among the top 10 economies in the world that follows a regulatory model you like. Where’s the working example in real life?

Wrong. You’re cherry-picking details while ignoring inconvenient truths. Increasing standards of living had nothing to do with worker safety. They had to do with technological advancements. Just because electric lights extended society’s productive hours and cars made it easier to get around has nothing to do with

That’s not true. Regulation actually first appeared after a century of neglect and dangerous workplace conditions after the Industrial Revolution. There was a time pre-regulation, and it was much, much less fair and far more dangerous for employees. No one in their right mind thinks we should go back to that. There

A lot of people don’t even know that you can also finance a used car. Well...they may know. They just don’t want a used car, so they use various mental machinations to justify the purchase of the new car they really want.

We both know that you’re absolutely right, though, and your entire premise is right. My thing is just that a lot of people — the vast majority of people — will hear what you’re saying without really understanding it, and they only implement part of what you’re saying while ignoring the overall spirit of the advice.

Sorry, most people aren’t that smart. The “always pay cash” for depreciating assets as a general rule is damn good advice for most people actually. I respectfully disagree with you and your finance background.

You’re nuts. Cleaning is a f*cking fantastic way to recharge your mental batteries, barely rivaled by showers.

I think for anyone who has spent any significant time in the gym this is common sense. Don’t train to failure when it’s unsafe. Isn’t that common sense?

Some people are probably going to be uninspired by John’s answers because so many of them seem...uninspiring, but I think they’re effing fantastic.

“...a way to replace creative energy.”

You’re polite and respectful, as evident by your many thank you responses in these comments. That says a lot about you as a person. :) A lot of good, very important things. Loneliness, frustration with yourself, sadness — those are normal things to feel sometimes. You keep the faith in yourself, my friend, and know

Getting huge and ripped now is a HELL of a lot easier and safer to do clean than it was 20-30 years ago, and even if he uses roids now the roids are better and safer than what the old timers used.

Vince didn’t have to push his body to the limits and eat a dozen eggs washed down with a gallon of whole milk each day just to stay so huge. He probably also didn’t use ‘roids, which you know that some of the greats used. Hulk Hogan admitted to it on the stand in the ‘90s.

Why don’t you wait for the fight to happen first, and THEN analyze it.

From what was the case for me and for many people I know, late 20s are a very hard time. They’re tough for a lot of people, myself included, because you start to really feel “adult” pressures, like the pressure to get your sh*t together, the pressure to “measure up” to what your friends are doing and to members of the

Just had to comment to say thank you :) for that picture up top. Two of my favorite filmmakers of all time in an epically awkward pose.

Damn gorgeous bike.

Sorry to interject here, but dottingTscrossingls, you may have a 457 plan instead of a 401k. I worked for a state agency for 11 years, and we had CalPERS and 457 plans.

Irrelevant. OrangeGello’s entire premise was wrong. He said about HR, “They are the purgatory for people who could not cut it in any field.
