Now you’re just digging yourself deeper because you’re too bull-headed and can’t concede a single point when you know you’re wrong. ;) Good luck, little boy.

Ha. So the burden of proof is on me when you’re the one who made the blanket statements about HR people?
Your generalizations paint a personal picture of your crappy situation more than they accurately describe HR people as a whole.
You’re crazy. HR can be fantastic. I’ve saved and earned thousands of dollars more than I would have if it weren’t for the help of HR people who explained how our benefits, investment plans and healthcare options worked, and then helped me make the right decisions.
It’s not that the laws on the books are hard to enforce. It’s that they’re virtually impossible to enforce. All an employer has to do is invent another remotely plausible reason for their actions, and then it’s he/they said, she said.
Seriously, you REALLY are painting a clearer picture of your interpersonal situation within the subtext of every reply. How do you even type with that gigantic chip on your shoulder?
My mistake. I thought you were asking for help understanding why people, often women, have problems with you. I didn’t realize that you already have it figured out. Clearly the problem is with everyone else.
I hope realize that this followup of yours sort of reinforces some of the things many of us assumed about you...
I agree with everything here. I grew up at a time when stretching was the ish. Everyone said that stretching prevented injuries, but it doesn’t. Being a little warmed up and getting in tune with my body, like by flexing a little and rotating my joints, physically massaging my neck, arms, quads, hamstrings and calves…
Things I loved about your comment:
Bingo. Lots of people aren’t properly socialized these days. It’s not supposed to be this hard. Normally communicating with people without sounding like a pretentious @sshole comes fairly natural and doesn’t require reading Lifehacker how-to articles or books.
I’m sure you already know this, but if women are saying that you make them feel dumb, they’re referring to your behavior, and not the sheer impressiveness of your intellect.
I didn’t say it was impossible.
With all due respect — and I mean this sincerely — you are an exception, and probably also exceptional. :) Notice I said “much older than 50-60.” I’m 42, so I’m no spring chicken either, but testosterone does decline with age. I’m just saying that the gains get tougher and tougher as you get older.
And the beauty of this routine is that it should work even if you aren’t a mustachioed hipster.
Fair enough. It’s not bad advice at all. It’s very simplistic, but for a total beginner, simple is all it really takes, assuming they’re reasonably healthy, consume enough calories and aren’t much older than 50-60 years old. For someone who hasn’t regularly done pull-ups before, I have no doubt that this routine would…
Wow, so if you push yourself and continually try to improve, your body will adapt and grow stronger? HOLY CRAP THIS CHANGES EVERYTHING!
A page or two, yeah, depending on paper and handwriting, but not quite easily for a longhand-written book.
Linda Carter was a looooong time ago. Expectations have changed since then. Today’s audiences actually expect supposedly strong characters to, you know, look strong.
Gotta be honest...it looks considerably better than I expected it to. I may actually allow myself a modicum of anticipatory excitement. :)
