I’ve just never gotten behind Deadpool. I know that puts me in the minority among readers of this site, but the campy snark coupled with breaking the fourth wall...just not my cuppa joe.

If we disagree it’s an argument, but we can be civil. It’s certainly easier to make a film and get it in front of people than it was 30 years ago, but the slices of pie are also smaller. Many more films are made for less money, so while a thinking film from 1994 like Ed Wood that made $13.8m in 1994 or $28m adjusted…
“Wouldn’t it be the opposite?”
How is it woke again?? How is adolescence and the difficult process of going through it “woke” now? My family and I just thought it was a great movie. We never once considered whether it was woke. The word never even crossed my mind.
“Trump may be more narcissistic than Biden, but both are most likely deplorable people who care less for the common person than the average person at best.”
Preach.
How old are you? You sound 12 years old. When you lose? What “loss” are you referring to? Like when Bernie lost the primaries to Hillary? How would refusing to then get behind Hillary in the general in 2016 constitute “working harder” in that hypothetical?
Completely agree with you there. I’m 52 years old, work in tech, create the systems that people 20-30 years younger than me use every day, so I’m way past caring about being called a boomer or whatever. I’m old enough to be completely comfortable being widely hated and canceled, so I revel in pushing over the apple…

It’s utterly shameful and pitiful that it even comes to this, a debate expected to be watched by so many people? Why? What the hell for? The next president will be one of these two guys, the Hitler wannabe and the well-meaning older man. One of the two is qualified for the job, and the other is the anti-Christ. WTF…
Ummmmm...maybe. People do have a tendency to fully lose their basic cognitive abilities in warzones and other life-and-death situations, much less ones involving aliens.
And yet the first two are still great movies! And surprisingly rewatchable. I just rewatched the second one yesterday and still enjoyed it.
“The unfortunate truth is that streaming companies have a gun to viewers’ heads. If you want to tune in to see these sites’ original content (some would argue that most of the content isn’t really worth tuning into), you have to go along with whatever prices those companies set.”
There’s some crazy good stuff on Paramount+ actually. The Halo TV series is fantastic IMO. Really enjoyed that a lot more than I expected to. Lioness, starring Zoe Saldana and Nicole Kidman, is one of the best series of any kind I’ve seen in years.
You forgot an option. Many are both raising prices AND introducing ads. Even the ad-supported plans are going up in price.
“...they would also sell a 9 movie set without the Tim Burton one...”
Nothing is a dead language if there’s still a need for it. What’s to stop NASA or any individual from simply learning FORTRAN or any other language or skillset if it’s what’s required to keep Voyager working?
Who are The Seven really for though? They and almost everything else in the world of The Boys bows at Homelander’s feet now. Homelander calls all the shots. He basically runs Vought now, has zero fear of the government, fears nothing and no one. He doesn’t need anyone’s help either, doesn’t need a team of superheroes.…
I don’t know about that. We just need/want good movies. A good sequel is better than a bad original story. It all depends on whether something is good or not.
But it’s a good movie. Isn’t that the whole point, to get good movies? What does it matter whether something’s a sequel or a brand new idea as long as it’s good?
