Agreed. I came in with very low expectations, but I was pleasantly surprised. I think that some of the negatitive reviews stem from the fact that the movie is very successful in cultivating a sense of unease and discomfort both on-screen and for the audience.

I’m glad that you’ve found a way to put a positive spin on Josh Gad, but I’m unable to do the same.

Boy...the 1969 classic has long been my all-time favorite film, making it difficult to avoid the feeling that a re-make is cinematic sacriledge.

I do think that a TV series avoids some direct comparisons.
