Being the city slicker that I grew up as in the Bronx, I didn’t interact too much with Long Island until I got to high school and met a friend of mine whose grandparents lived in Great Neck. I have a fondness for ugly city accents and the loudness but there’s nothing quite like a gaggle of Long Islanders.
