Yes!
Rick & Morty/Venture Bros. crossover!
Fair enough. I’ll give them points for it. May not be enough to get me out to a theater, but we’ll see.
Rick and Morty is still playing in the background.
I know it was an homage to TNG, but I found it to be overbearing, distracting and annoying. Not because other shows don’t use as much music; not all shows are suited to lots of music. Maybe the music was supposed to be part of the comedy, but either way, it didn’t work for me.
it’ll easily outdraw Discovery.
I have to disagree that it’s “eminently watchable”. And I consider “Dark Matter” and “Killjoys” to be blue collar Trek.
I get what you’re saying. And Cthulhu knows I’ve stuck with shows after weak pilots in the past, but - to me - this was beyond that and just plain bad.
Except that he denies that it’s an homage to Trek. Which is part of my annoyance with the show. It is SO obviously an homage to Trek (I won’t use the term “rip-off” because it is better than that) that to suggest it isn’t is ridiculous. And I just didn’t enjoy it.
I’m “old” (61) and this would be ONLY thing I’d watch, which is why I don’t want to pay for it. But I do understand how it works, thank you very much. And I know plenty of young whippersnappers who love CBS comedies. So get off my lawn!
Because I thought it was terrible. But you’re right, it’s Seth McFarlane so it will probably be on for awhile. I just think he can do better. Not that I’ve liked any of his other shows, but he always given me the impression of being smarter than his shows suggest he is.
Okay, it just didn’t work for me.
I get it it’s not grim and dark and SJWery enough for you.
Yep, I’ll be there for the pilot. I want it to be good, but I don’t want to pay for a CBS streaming service. I’m torn. In reference to the release of “The Disaster Artist” trailer, “You’re tearing me APART, CBS!”
Having seen the pilot of The Orville - and read the reviews - I doubt it’s going to soar or even get off the ground.
