Elysium, yes. Chappie, no. And I stand by my contention that - to me - they pretty equally weak movies.

I haven’t seen Chappie because I’m already disappointed enough in Blomkamp. But I disagree about Elysium. I think it was on a par with Prometheus, meaning movies that did not meet their potential.

I honestly don’t think anything from Blomkamp would have been worse than Prometheus. Not a terrible movie, but definitely not on a par with Alien.

I get what you’re saying, and maybe this is why I’m more forgiving of the various characters’ actions, decisions, behaviors, etc., in both shows, but I look at them as being thoroughly - increasingly - traumatized people in a very screwed up world. Okay, fine, I’ll be the lone defender of this show. I thought season two got much better. I like the characters and their stories and in some ways, I think it’s a better show the TWD. I know some of you are thinking that’s a low bar, but despite its flaws, I’m still a TWD diehard.
