Spot on. Former St. Louis County resident here and yes, JeffCo was always the butt of everyone’s jokes (despite St. Charles County being far more worthy of said jokes). JeffCo was reliably blue for a very long time (like you said, Unions) and only recently shifted into the ruby red that we see today.

Nothing is as sad as the banners I noticed at Sprint Center in Kansas City. They only had two and they were both commemorating Garth Brooks concert sellouts. So, so sad.

I get all of those things where I live (minus the legal pot, but even that’s not a problem for me to get). Plus I don’t have to deal with traffic and the rapidly rising cost of living. Like I told another guy, I’ve been there hundreds of times, it’s a nice enough place. Just don’t see the hype. To each their own.

I’ve been to Denver hundreds of times. It’s a nice enough city, I just don’t get the hype.

Don’t forget the mom jeans!

Amazon or no Amazon Denver is going to be the next Bay Area if I had to guess. My two best friends live out there and all they do is bitch and moan about how crowded, expensive, and really just awful everything is now. People are going to keep moving there because it’s the hot place to go right now. Honestly other

“Sadly, our tribal connections to Sparty and the Nittany Lion cold hard cash seem to be stronger than basic common sense and human decency.”

Yeah you’re not wrong. But has any KC mayor (or really any mayor of any city) ever met a TIF or an abatement they didn’t like, especially for a big project? Same could be said for many, if not most, of the region’s suburban mayors who are constantly chasing strip-malls and “lifestyle centers” which are nearly

I’m originally from St. Louis where we had 16 years of Francis Slay who was basically a large corporation himself. Very cozy with big time political donors (both left and right) and considering the 9 Fortune 500s and 19 Fortune 1000s in St. Louis he was quite cozy with some very, very big businesses (Civic Progress

Would def be down for Sly to replace Cleaver. Though I’ll really miss those “Full Cleaver” moments.

I’d take St. Louis or Cincy over Nashville all day, every day.

I don’t either. But it seems to be the worst of the bunch. I use an actual calandar for time managment, I don’t need FB to know where I’m at and what I’m doing all the time.

I think this rule more applies to Twitter. Of all the social media apps I probably like Instagram the best. I’m also a photographer (an actual one, not an iPhone one) so I enjoy being able to follow people and things that interest me with out as much of the insufferable bullshit you get with Facebook and Twitter.

Yes, and generally I am that person who loves to say “ your (shitty County municipality) isn’t part of St. Louis!” In this case I assumed our friend from Philly wasn’t aware of the nuances of the ridiculous City/County split, especially since Philadelphia is a consolidated City/County.

Somewhat! Twin Cities are quite a bit larger (and nicer) though. The city you see in the foreground is Clayton, Missouri. That city itself is only 2sq miles with a population of 16,000 people. Back during the white flight days when everyone was fleeing the city in the background, Clayton (which is also the County Seat

Re: License plate covers.

I’d take Winnipeg all day over San Jose. San Jose is an over-priced suburban shit hole filled with tech bros.

The best one I saw was:

So I’m white and don’t understand the unseasoned food thing. Is this something white people do? Lawry’s is the best fucking seasoning around and has been a staple in my life since I came into this earth. There is at least two, if not three bottles of it at all times in my very white, conservative (I was fortunate
