True, but power oversteer isn’t the safest on public roads, and is harder to control. Hence all the mustang carnage. I would rather a fwd that gently and controlably slides from suspension tuning.

It all comes down to the suspension tuning. Fwd can be as fun as rwd if it’s tuned for neutral to progressive oversteer type handling. The problem is very few manufacturers tune their fwd cars this way as it’s seen as an unsafe handling characteristic for the average driver.

Kevin Love is far more than just a floor spacer. He is the second option on the team. They regularly run sets to get him the ball in the post.

^these comments are allowed but im in the grey’s?????????????

Mk 6 Gti owner here. Get the GTI performance pack. It’s an absolute blast to drive, and is more performance than you can fully exploit on the street. With the LSd it will even be nice for some track or autcross fun. Even a Base Gti has more performance than you can full use on the street.

This thing legitimately looks better than the new Accord. It’s like they fixed the rear end, and the grill. Dare i.say it’s good looking....my interest is piqued.

Holy shit Subaru really...?

Chris Harris isn’t a Honda fanboy though, and he thinks fwd is becoming good enough to forego awd. Awd has its merits but so does going without it.

Yup we need only look at the Gti clubsport they released overseas. More power tweaked suspension, better brakes. By all accounts it was better than a golf R and less expensive, though limited in production. All without AWD.

That’s all based on the limitations of the human race. Other Alien species could be older and far more advanced than ours. Their planets could also house materials and energy sources that ours does not. As potentially evidenced by the unidentified alloys we have discovered.

That’s true, but i fully believe the car would have continued to sell if it were made available. It wasnt a stripped out car, it was equipped like a golf r or gti. They re tuned the suspension, added power, and brakes. No weight reduction, or creature comforts were sacrificed.

I think another huge reason for the FWD hate is how much they are tuned to understeer.

True, something like a Golf R is not $12,000 more car, or fun than a Base Gti for example.

An St does not equal an RS with a tune. What about the additional suspension work, aero, brakes etc.

Don’t forget the clubsport though which forgoed the awd. People snatched them up quick, and I believe they were more expensive than the golf R.

Honda evidently didn’t need it with the Civic type R. Vw doesn’t need it with the clubsport gti. Same power with less weight equals ever better performance than with the awd.

Like the Subaru’s above, the wrangler is also praying on brand diehards and wealthy posers. No way its worth 50k. There just isnt enough in that package to be even remotely worth it.

Subaru has obviously been looking lovingly at Porsche’s margins, through their endless special additions. The LEAST they could do is add some more power as well, while suckering Subaru diehards on this one.

absoulutely nothing drives better in its price range, and it drives better than many cars, a class above. People get caught up on its looks and interior materials.

The car is freaking camouflaged. It’s deffinitely addopted a more sporty roofline, and chiseled sides. The front end will be clean and simple vw. Looks like a budget a4 pretty much how the last one did.
