Ah, the internet, where everyone is a programmer and yet is also terrible at googling. It isn’t half as hard as you make it sound and if you only got 6.5 hours of game play out of it you skipped everything and probably should have played something else.

Sometimes it is impossible not to judge a work based on the fandom because they endlessly highlight the elements of the work that do not appeal to you, even if those elements are a minority of the thing. There is little difference when it comes to Bethesda games. Getting the most out of a Bethesda game means using both official and fan patches.

For one, the way the game handles stats, levels, and perks makes any choices based around character build unimportant since you can always just get more points to spend, leveling up is incredibly easy and you can max everything.

I don’t know why so many people can’t handle criticism of Fallout 4. It is a fun, Bethesda game with all that entails but it is the worst “Fallout” game in the series and not a great RPG in general. It takes almost all the choice and control out of hands and leaves you with a not great shooter in its place.
