Yeah, the switch axe is great for cutting and breaking. The high slash keeps tails easily in reach and it is always nice using the sword to break parts you normally need impact for and the axe just bounces off of.

Most of the time I use the switch axe. It has high damage, reasonable speed, good dodge, the ability to hit both high and low, the ability to damage armored body parts in sword mode, a long reach when mounting... It does it all.

Except that the primary market for the game is Japanese and wants to play on a portable... So, good luck with that. The only console system I own is a 3ds (just upgraded to the New) and that purchase was 90% motivated by it being the Monster Hunter platform.

Yeah, when you add in all the non-Steam online games and assorted games like Minecraft that are not on the platform there is no competition in terms of gaming audience on PC vs any of the consoles.

Except the majority of MH titles over the years have been on a portable system and I rather doubt that the last one released on the Wii U outsold the 3DS version. Portable is where MH is at.

Easy solution, buy a New 3DS. I bought the MH New 3DS to replace my old 3DS so I had the best platform for MH 4 and it is worth it.

Makes me glad I went with the Monster Hunter 4 version.
