Avoiding Twitter seems like such a no brainer really. Twitter seems to mostly exist to generate drama, misunderstanding, and trolls.

I would expect that game pads could serve as a stopgap or even as all you would need if you don't spend much time dogfighting but for fighting the full joystick and the extra hats and axes give you significantly more control and both games have a lot of things to control at once.
