Rapunzel/Tangled was awesome I agree. I can sorta see what you mean, but I didn't care I thought it was a cute, beautifulle animated story. The really sad thing though is that there were plenty fairy tales that were recorded but never published properly. That's because at some point somebody decided that fairy tales were for kids and that all the adult and truly violent ones weren't fit for the general public.

I've definitely heard of and possibly read half of those or more, and I'm sure I had the Princess on the Pea and Hansel and Gretel told to me in those versions. How does Hansel and Gretel make sense without the famine though? Without it the parents are just pointlessly cruel, this way they're supposed to die quicker…
