I know it's not genre (but now maybe it is?) but everyone (except me, apparently) hates/hated the first season of Parks & Rec. And then it became awesome, and now I will cry all through the final season because I will miss Leslie Knope dearly when this show goes off the air.

But it was the opposite? It had fantastic pre-premiere buzz, everyone's favorite show before the pilot ever aired. And then the pilot aired.

Beat me. Though I'd have said, "They're spinning him off from Smallville? Are you kidding me?" (which was the first erroneous assumption). And even after the first month I'd have said, "What is this wanna-be Chris Nolan Batman crap?" Then Deathstroke and The Huntress showed up and all bets were off.

Come on. CW 2nd tier hero with vapid pretty actors. How could it be good?

A low-budget midseason replacement show on the shitty WB network starring nobody you know except maybe that guy from the British version of those will-they-or-won't-they coffee commercials, based on a below-average movie that was mildly amusing at its BEST, and written/created by the guy who's best known for doing

Why would you bother telling a story that you don't want people to hear?

Sure there is a chance that in 100 years some folks will read the book, but it is unlikely. Can you think of any authors from 100 years ago, that if it were announced that a new text had been found that you would be eager to read? I can think of

I don't think Diet Coke has a lot of fructose in it.

I could give fuck all how other passengers dress, but I find that dressing nicely for air travel increases my enjoyment of it. I don't know why. Maybe it just boosts my mood a little during a time when I might otherwise be focusing on the many negative aspects. I usually wear a maxi skirt (so comfortable! waist

I used to think I was all "live and let live" but then I realized quickly in college (many moons ago) that I think its really gross when people wear their pajamas in public. And that I'm a clean freak. And that I personally value presentation highly. Clearly, a lot of society is not on board with my personal

I'm with that guy, no one should wear pajamas outside of their homes.

Tag jokes are my favorite jokes.

Uh. No. I just make scrambled eggs with salt, pepper, and tabasco, and coat the pan with butter (SALTED, FOR FUCK'S SAKE) rather than using a cooking spray. They need nothing else. They're goddamned delicious. Scrambled eggs are literally the only thing I can cook, but I make the best scrambled eggs on the planet.

"she wouldn't work" = she can't take a rape joke.

Yes, I'm going to do the "you really should have included this one" because it's true. (And my friend made it). Here's his Facebook page. He takes requests.

The show only tangentially has anything to do with their work as doctors. It's all about the characters, not the practice. It rarely features patients. I don't think it makes sense to suddenly focus on abortion or any other medical procedure, in that context.

Her show doesn't do "issue of the week" episodes like some romcoms/sitcoms. Even "Boy Meets World" and "Saved by the Bell" did those kind of episodes (Shaun joins a cult, and the famous diet-pill addiction eps).

I would say, even with the looser controls in modern television, that its HARDER (or at least more controversial) to talk about abortion now than in the 70s, especially in a comedic setting. Its almost like the polarization of our society has made everything worse.

I also want to give a shout-out to Guardians of the Galaxy, which has a wonderful uplifting ending that doesn't entirely wash.
