Well, when I first went through the comments, I found zero shuffle threads, then I resorted and found three (although one was initiated by a Guest and had no replies as of yet). I guess I'll have to do another shuffle to be thorough.

I thought I was the only one on here likely to have Juice Newton on their IPod!

Ben Folds Five – Birds
Sleater-Kinney – Far Away
Kinky – Cornman
Scylla – Missing
Chris Isaak – Forever Young

Kind of a long one today; I was flying home from Chicago, and decided to write down everything that played from when I started the shuffle through take-off. Here goes!

Weird Al AND Fiona Apple AND Combustible Edison? That is one awesome shuffle.

My partner and I are coming to Chicago from Nebraska for that very event! I'm also really looking forward to The Cure, as well as Gogol Bordello and Dandy Warhols (and Afghan Whigs, who were pretty amazing when they hit Omaha last week). Indie Boy is looking forward to Mudhoney (we're also going to their aftershow

All the upvotes for In The Flat Field.

Portland Cello Project – Prelude, from BWV 1007
Cake – The Distance
The Handsome Family – My Ghost
The Breeders – Mad Lucas
Camille – Baby Carni Bird
Curtis Harding – I Need a Friend

I grew up in rural Kansas, so getting to see concerts generally involved a five-hour trek to either Denver or Kansas City. And since I was still too young to do that on my own, that meant talking a family member into taking me. Luckily, this is where my sister came in. She was 14 years older than me and had radically

Yay, indeed!

Always happy to see them get some love!

It was a little tonal whiplash after West Side Story, but Manu Chao is always fun.

One of my favorite Muses songs. That whole album is spectacular.

Hey, Tity, there's some girls on here too!! Anyway, here we go:

That is a good album; now that you've reminded me of it, I should probably add it to my list of items to rip from CD and add to my iPod. They have another live album, Melora a la Basilica, that has some other fun covers, like American Girl and Green Finch/Johanna from Sweeney Todd. My favorite cover of theirs is Wish

Yay, Rasputina! Love them so much. I saw them open for Siouxsie on her last U.S. tour, and they did a fun cover of Baby Got Back, then most of the band came and sat in the balcony a couple of seats away from us for Siouxsie's performance.

Damn internet, making it hard to discern humor! I remember Streets of Fire, but I don't believe I ever saw it. The only song I could identify from that is I Can Dream About You.

Different song, same title. I am imagining that they are fairly dissimilar, although I'm unfamiliar with the Steinman version, so who knows.

Well, that may just be all the motivation I need to give it another go.

Big ups for Shostakovich! Probably my favorite composer. Even named one of my cats Shosty after him.
