I’m not stuck at home, but working with the public on a daily basis definitely brings its own levels of stress. I try to focus on the fact that we do have protections in place; I am much safer than, say, a grocery stocker. I do find that my filter gets rather ragged by the end of the week; if I’m going to say

Fair play; you’re one of the folks I just look for your posts in general. :) As for the subject at hand... I’m conflicted. If it was a more gradual easing, I think I’d feel safer. Instead, it’s worse than what I thought—50% is the tightest for those specific places, all others have no restrictions.  Masking and

OT even though I don’t think anyone uses this as How’s It Going? anymore, but I just need to fret:  So, our state is rolling back restrictions to 50% capacity in a whole mess of places come Friday. I feel like I should be excited and happy for the businesses, but frankly, mostly what I’m thinking about is how badly we

OT: By the end of the week I am seriously done with the on-site covid vax clinic. I can usually handle the older folks, but seeing teachers younger than me get to line jump just because they’re teachers... like I get it, but I work with the public, too. So does our physical security force. And our housekeeping has to

Completely OT because I’m making myself crazy: A friend of mine is going on a dry run for our Director, today. I always worry—which is stupid, he’s former Secret Service, this is part of his job for a reason. And yet. Can’t ever seem to help it when it comes to people I care about.

“Oh, do not look at me so.  A smile better suits a hero...”

Happy early birthday!  :)

I ended up buying the soundtrack digitally on Amazon the second it was available, because I have access to the webplayer at work.  Definitely in frequent rotation.  :)

Hard to believe I’ve been here longer than you, but... here we are. I remember the transition from Crecente to you, and being incredibly nervous about it at the time. I will admit that I am quite change-adverse! But you impressed me, and kept impressing me, and Kotaku remained my video game blog home.  You’ve done

Seems to have gone now the event’s ended, yes.  At least, I’ve not had it happen since.  :)

Something I love to do in this game is to use the “follow” function, be it on my horse or longship, then turn on cinematic view and literally just enjoy the ride.  :)

I can so relate to what you’re saying. This post by one of my favourite comic authors really helped me out. It’s a bit long, but worth a read if you’ve got a moment.

People have to do what they have to do to stay sane, whether there’s a pandemic raging or not. It just so happens that right now we all genuinely need some distraction, and as relatively benign video games are compared to other more unhealthy ways to spend time, I think civilization will manage to make it through yet

One of my supervisors and I were discussing something similar to this the other day, just not video games in specific. We both know that we’ve picked up habits that we wouldn’t have in normal times, that in all honesty, we’re not particularly keen on. But the fact is, as long as it doesn’t veer into wildly unhealthy,

I’ll certainly try to!  Too bad this is just concept, it might be fun to try to requisition.  LOL

I haven’t actually seen ours except in photos; you’re only allowed to order one if needed, because they’re apparently rather expensive. I should probably look into how well they work, just as a point of interest.

Thing is, the translucency isn’t that bad of an idea. My company actually special ordered a number of clear, hard plastic masks for people whose colleagues need to be able to read their lips. (Of course those were far less fancy and not tinted, but even so.)

Welcome back!  Hope something continues to play nice so you can stay.  :)
