Had a Zoom meeting with my section today knowing we were going to be talking about implementing a return to work, and was really gratified to see that they were taking our concerns seriously. I was really impressed when they showed us some of their specs and actually listened to the feedback we had to offer, both

It’s funny you mention that, because my workplace orders in sushi for the cafeteria; excellent quality.  While I’m largely working from home, I do have occasion to go in—this week being one of those times. I was actually thinking about swinging by to see if any was available. :)

Our state has just begun phase one of recovery, but not all counties--one of which is mine.  We have very limited things open.  So of course the day after the rest of the state begins, they decide to throw a party.  Thanks, guys.  Way to drag this out.

I miss sushi. Right before all this started, I took off work early (which in itself feels like some weird pipe dream), and went to the mall to pick up my AC Switch. I’d heard that Asian businesses were seeing a reduction in clientele and just bad behaviour in general, so I made a point of going by my favourite sushi

Realised this morning that I’ve gone through 8 books in 9 weeks, which is kind of nice as I have a massive backlog.  Of course, I throw the whole system out of whack by reading a “book one” and then ordering the rest of the series once I decide I’m invested.  Currently eyeing Amazon that gave me a delivery date of

Missed these.  What a lovely one to come back to!  :)

I’ve actually had reasonable success at the grocery store for the first time in awhile, which was nice--especially since I’m shopping for three families!  But my brain has this ability to take good things and twist it somewhat.  I can’t help but worry that because some things are improving, Other People are going to

Oop, sorry about that.  LOL  Glad it worked out.  :)

I have a couple of times, actually.  :)  If I want to do so again, I’ll either have to get a drastically short cut or grow it out long enough for it to be of use.

You notice shed much more at that length, but if your hair withstands brushing, that gets the worst of it.

I kept it braided most of the time, which shortened the length considerably.  Oftentimes, I’d let it fall over one shoulder, in front of me.  But if I needed to do anything really strenuous, I’d just wrap the braid into a bun.  :)

LOL  Lady Godiva I am not!

A few years, at least.  I started mainly because my brother and I worked at a couple of Renaissance faires, and it was easier to have that length of actual hair to work with--I could switch between hairstyles and character-types with ease.  At some point I just got used to it and it made the most sense to just keep

My biggest rule: I cannot change into PJs until the workday is over. Now, make no mistake, I’m not sitting in office-wear. But that’s a signal that I am done for the day. Meanwhile, leggings and a t-shirt are fine, but if I’m in a Zoom meeting, at least from the waist up needs to be “nice”, even if that’s a cami and a

I could not in good conscience call someone callous who took the opportunity to put over their co-workers on their way out! I’ve read you from the beginning of your tenure here, but it was your early streams of PUBG that really resonated—I’m not very good, but something about your calm and quietly humorous playstyle

That’s a mentality a lot of us are having to unlearn, I find!  Because now you don’t know what toughing it out might mean to your coworkers.  When you’re home, maybe that should turn into... what are you doing to yourself?  If you’d look out for them, you should look out for you, too.

You’re probably right, although I think I’d feel it more if I had something to do.  Right now it’d just be, now I don’t have to do X.  But the other motivating factor is that I don’t know what’s going to happen, the longer this continues.  If I end up getting furloughed, I would really want those hours available.

I typically love my work, but this morning the prospect of having to spend another long day at the computer was almost too much. Not knowing what the future holds, I definitely didn’t want to take a vacation day—which feels pointless anyway. I’m right here, might as well work. So instead, I looked through my available
