OMG. I'm dying. I'm dead.
OMG. I'm dying. I'm dead.
This sounds like a great lesson. Lots of opportunity for critical thinking. And also reminds me that we have to go back on 1/4 and I have no clue what I’m teaching in social studies. (j/k it’s Egypt and not-taking skills.)
Seriously. Our magnolia bloomed in December last year and January the year before that. Our daffodils came up in January, too. This year, not so much. Thanks, El Niño!
Hank’s is breakfast amateur hour! The best breakfasts are at (in no particular order): The Pullman Kitchen, Dierk’s Parkside or Midtown Cafe, and Jeffrey’s. The Pullman Kitchen serves a michelada that will make you swear off Bloody Mary’s. Sweet T’s is not bad, I agree. But the best dinner spots are out of Santa Rosa.…
You flew all the way from down under and they made you eat at a Fieri restaurant? Does your family hate you?
😂😂😂 I've seen him out there a few times myself, and didn't even look at his feet! I was so surprised to be on my run and seeing Fieri. He definitely had sunglasses on the back of his head, though.
Out of the grays for you! Ugh, he's so gross.
I can see I need to add context to my previous comment. My friend was on a run and she and her running partner come up on 2 unknown dudes looking at something in the brush. She asks, “what are you guys looking at?” Because people are friendly and curious. The wildlife encounters have gotten more frequent and numerous…
The jokes write themselves, Guy! Seriously though, his food his gross, he’s an asshole driver, AND he’s rude to strangers. Tex Wasabi’s in Santa Rosa just closed for the second time in 6 years due to “plumbing” issues. And my friend ran in to him out on a hiking trail the other day and he was very snarky to her.
Still not ok.
Proximity, baby! You just nailed it. Different cultures have different norms for personal space, and the U.S. has a pretty strong 3 ft personal bubble. Perhaps a holdover from Ye Olde Puritan Ethic.
Boundaries, people. The only people who should touch my hair are my hair dresser, my husband, my mom (if I’m sick), and friends who i’d be willing to barf in front of.
They had oncall shifts at Gap when I worked in 2000. In 2001 I transferred to old navy because of a move and we had oncall shifts until maybe ‘03 or ‘04. Hyperbole aside, I don’t remember exactly.
The greatest day of my retail career was when Gap, Inc. stopped doing those bullshit oncall shifts. Either schedule me to work, and suck it up and pay me(there was always a denim wall to be resized at Old Navy, which can be quite meditative) or don’t schedule me at all. I really feel for current retail workers who put…
How does it do with waterproof mascara? I’ve recently started using the Benefit They’re Real mascara, which I really like, but the Clinique take the day off eye makeup remover is NOT cutting it. I love Clinique skincare products because they are not crazy expensive and gentle on my sensitive, acne and rosacea-prone…
Aaaarrrrrrggggghhhhhh! Again, the tyranny of the nude shoe!
I hope this works. I respect that tipping allows some servers to earn very good wages. But so many people in the restaurant industry barely scrape by because their wages are dependent on the whims of tipping customers. Mr. Run made pretty good money in high end restaurants, but so many do not.
I imagine that white table cloth places will have to offer higher wages to attract talented FOH staff. That's what French Laundry does. I understand what yr saying. My husband made that kind of money when he was working as a server in Napa Valley. I know a lot of people will be watching this very closely.
I’m watching season 4 of The Wire right now. One of the corner kids in Colvin’s class announces he wants to be a neurosurgeon like Ben Carson. I wonder how that scene would play out now.
The old guy playing keyboards, who is he? How did he get this gig? Is he a castoff from the Doobie Brothers? I need to know more. He is the most interesting person in this P.O.S. video.
