On reflection, it has been cut.

I keep seeing videos of musicians giving her gear and I can’t help but wonder how this one specific girl became a weird rock star meme. It’s cool, though, just a little baffling. Is it just her accent? I feel like her accent gives her a bump. 

I re-watched Taxi Driver back when the first Joker trailer came out because it seemed so obvious to me that it was a re-telling of the same story. I used to love Taxi Driver but *man* it does not age well. Or, rather, our society has degraded to the point that Travis Bickle no longer seems like a far fetched fantasy. 

It’s gorgeous. Worth re-watching for the composition and cinematography alone. Of course, I am a huge Kubrick fan and this film seems to draw from him quite a bit. 

Trainspotting is so much less intense than Requiem for a Dream. It has some disturbing visuals but it at least has a sense of humor. Requiem is just brutal. 

I remember gripping the armrests of my seat in the theater forcing myself to finish the film, feeling like Alex in A Clockwork Orange. I saw the film alone and it was so fucking intense. When it ended, I made a b-line from the theater to my car and turned the radio on loud so I could have anything else in my brain for…

Dancer in the Dark and Requiem for a Dream

I had no idea Robert DeNiro and Marc Maron were slowly merging into one creature. 

I still can’t help but wonder how exactly he kept it a secret from almost *everyone* without the gaps in, or disruptions of, his availability resulting in rumors of him “being difficult” circulating. Maybe his agent ran defense and simply said he had an ill parent he had to be with in order to shut down any push back…

Christ, it’s starting already. We’re never going to be rid of his goddamn face. The History Channel will be 50% Hitler, 50% Trump in 10 years.

Also, I don’t care. I am still amused by these utterly stupid characters. They are huffing paint personified but something about them is still very honest and sincere.

I, too, get angry at actors for saying the lines of dialog a room full of writers put in the script.

I’ve seen a lot of news outlets report this by referring to them as “The Washington NFL team” to respect the team’s decision (and common decency) to, I assume, let this racial slur die a quiet death. But nope, you had to go use it twice in the headline. Classy.

Glad I’m not the only one with an unreasonable level of dislike of that man.

 My money’s still on post office. It’d piss off the right, with their current hard-on for killing USPS. Because, yeah, barely cops. They just need some civil servant gig with a certain amount of intrigue and paper work.
