I understand the impulse with regards to animated show casting, but I am a little surprised how little attention is being given to the *writers* who create and put words in the characters’ mouths. Surely casting can’t fix character problems that start with the scripts?
I’m available to work in the writer’s room at a moment’s notice.
I still say there’s a non-zero chance that they all walk into the office as postal service, or FDNY arson, civil servants in the first episode and act like nothing’s changed...
I think this is good. It will set an example for writers working on current shows: Don’t write racially insensitive comedy, or 15 years after the show airs, someone might notice and pull it off some streaming services.
God, who fucking cares anymore. Getting to go watch a movie would feel like winning an award at this point.
I compared Q1 of 2019 to Q1 of 2020.
It’s possible that they always lose billions of dollars in the first quarter and make up for it in the summer blockbuster season. But man, that’s a lot of money to lose. What a stressful industry to be in.
Doing a little math...
They lost $2.1 - 2.4B in the first quarter of 2020.
And the first quarter 2019 revenue was $1.2B.
I always appreciated that the home system and the portable system used the same media. Of course, the portable one DESTROYED 6 AA batteries in like 2 hours.

Praising a film that cribbed its entire plot from Seven Samurai for its story is...odd.
I mean...
There’s no way they can make a Mad Max film with a different actor playing such an iconic, pivotal character...
I guess so. It’s just so...not a cool rockstar look. Like, you’ve got Slash on stage next to you, rockin’ the leather pants, shirtless, top-hat look, which is acceptable only on a rock star. And then you’re literally prancing around the stage looking like some kind of confused stripper who just finished a bike ride on…
Apropos of absolutely nothing, Instagram has been showing me old Use Your Illusion era GnR tour videos lately and...can someone please explain Axl’s fashion sense back then? Even when I was a kid and it was current, it baffled me. Bicycle shorts and football jerseys/belly shirts? The fuck?
Aw. That was much less overtly racist than I expected.
I’m sorry, but “With Six You Get Eggroll”?! What trip down wikipedia hell am I about to take...
I adore this film, its patience, and use of aural comedic bits (something rather unique in film). It has one of my all-time favorite gags in film (the door man’s solution after the glass door breaks...)
Is this self-published? Why does the cover design look like it was thrown together using the design widget on a sticker printing company’s website?
The Iggy Pop “Night-Clubbin’” sequence was interesting for the visuals. But then I thought, wait is this genre supposed to be...Trainspotting? Is that a genre? What’s happening?
