You’re thinking of his agency.

Oops.

You’re right. I am advocating for a strict division of the classes, a caste system ideally.

“...people with disparate positions of status in an organization ethically shouldn’t enter into a sexual relationship” doesn’t strike me as broad.

“Don’t pursue your professional subordinates sexually” doesn’t strike me as broad.

I think the heart is not the organ most often making demands in these situations.

“And yet, that’s not how life works. Victories fade, replaced by new challenges. Heroes get older. They become broken-down and kind of pathetic, bearded and cynical.”

Hope Harvey isn’t casting it.

A phrase that has always made me think I must be shitting, eating, or having sex very differently than others.

I think coworkers dating is fine ethically. Might be a bad idea from an interpersonal standpoint, but adults can make that choice. Sometimes people work so much, that’s the only place they’re going to meet someone. Can’t begrudge that.

“Yeah, but I can handle this and act professionally when that comes up”*

People need to start acknowledging and respecting the idea that people with disparate positions of status in an organization ethically shouldn’t enter into a sexual relationship. Boss/employee, teacher/student, supervisor/employee...there’s just an inherent imbalance that is being exploited.

The most punchable face on television.

Except for the odd and unnecessary pre-amble and lead-in. I wish he’d just start the piece without branding it.

Though, on re-reading, if he “kept asking” he was probably drunk and making an ass of himself...

...provided you are a danger to yourself and others.

Though, how does that work if you hail an Uber/Lyft for someone else? I imagine that’s logistically a little strange, with regards to payment/communication/etc.
